AAUW Officers Elected

The Medina County Branch of The American Association of University Women has elected Judy Smith of Medina as Vice President for Program and Cindy Weisheit of Medina as Finance Officer to serve two year terms from 2008 to 2010. Marjorie Otley of Medina was elected Secretary for a one year term. Other officers serving continuing terms this year are: Dr. Beth Lawton of Seville, President, and Theresa Laffey of Medina, Vice President for Membership.
Lawton has appointed the following members to chair standing committees and serve on the Board of Directors for the coming year: Marlene Jividen, Educational Foundation and Legal Advocacy Fund; Pat Chaloupek, Newsletter Editor and Website Manager; Betty Lynham, Non-traditional Scholarship Committee; Carol Thombs, BeWise Camp Scholarship Committee; Carol Cary, Agent of Change Award; Marilyn Sigel, Arts and Entertainment Group; Annette Miller, Hospitality; Nancy Sprowls, Public Information; Stephanie Duke, Film Study Group; Virginia Jeandrevin and Gloria Brown, Daytime Book Group; and Pat Chaloupek, Evening Book Group.
Committees are at work planning 2008-2009 events including the Agent of Change Award Luncheon which will be held on October 23. Anyone interested in submitting nominations for the award may contact Carol Cary at ccary@zoominternet.net or 330-725-6869.
