Hudson, Ohio (August 11, 2008) Dogs and cats in the Summit County area united with a glorious chorus of barks and meows last week as Vue Restaurant & Lounge presented a donation of $15,000 to the Humane Society of Greater Akron as a result of the Hudson Wine Festival.
Butch Bartlett, co-owner of Vue along with Debra Sherman, event coordinator, were on hand to present the check to Chalan Geul of the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
This donation will allow us to continue to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for abandoned, abused, ill and injured animals in Summit County. said Chalan Geul, Director of Communications for the Humane Society of Greater Akron. We are touched by the kindness and concern that Vue Restaurant showed by putting on this amazing event. This is a shining example of how a small group can really effect change in their community.I know the animals would thank them if they could.
The donation represents the proceeds from the first ever Hudson Wine Festival which took place July 18 20 in the First & Main shopping area and drew more than 2,000 patrons during the two-day event.Along with over 250 local, national and international wines, patrons enjoyed delicious food from Vue Restaurant along with fabulous entertainment from local jazz, R&B and acoustic musicians.
Plans are already underway for the second annual Hudson Wine Festival which will be held July 17 20, 2009.For more information or to become a sponsor, please contact Debra Sherman at 330-256-8704.
