Big 3 Automotive is a full-service automotive facility with four ASE certified technicians who provide quality automotive repairs and maintenance—and they give it to you straight.

It all started with four fast friends who shared a love of cars when they met at the Medina County Career Center. The guys discovered they all shared a hobby for racing cars and soon were repairing cars on the side for racing friends, family and neighbors.

Derrick Waller, Rick Trunkett, Chuck Stefanski and Bob Hess, the owners of Big 3 Automotive, graduated together from the University of Northwestern Ohio with degrees in high-performance auto repair. These gentlemen decided to open their 6,000 square foot repair facility because they quickly found that as their reputation for quality repairs had grown, so did the demand for their services. Big 3 quickly became the shop other racing teams took their cars to.  

“We know our clients have peace of mind when we perform their auto repairs,” says Derrick. “We maintain very high standards in vehicle repair and have a track record of providing honest and fair estimates.”  
With a flat rate of just $65 per hour, the services at Big 3 Automotive are affordable, too. “That’s easily $20 less than most other service stations,” Chuck insists. “With the cost of new cars today, more and more people are choosing to repair their cars to keep them on the road running longer.  

“We have state-of-the-art equipment that includes all the latest technology,” Rick emphasizes.  Recently, Big 3 Automotive purchased an in-ground Chassis Dynamometer, which allows them to accurately test-drive your car to exacting conditions—without ever having to put it on the road. It has the ability to acquire full engine data and nearly every critical function of an engine or chassis.  

“We can provide maintenance and repair services for everything from brakes and batteries to engines, transmissions and much more,” says Derrick.

Big 3 is also a certified JASPER engine and transmission installer. JASPER offers a 3-year or 100,000-mile warranty on most engines and transmissions for both parts and labor. “One of the reasons we install JASPER with confidence is because of the nationwide transferable warranty,” Bob remarks.

The guys always perform a visual inspection of your vehicle while it’s in for routine maintenance or repair. “We want our customers to know the overall condition of their cars because it just helps them make a better decision on how—or if—they should repair their vehicle,” Chuck explains.

“We’ve had customers come to our shop and tell us they were told their car needed some expensive repair. But lots of times we can show them how they may have been, well, misinformed,” Bob insists.  
Chuck says that Big 3 will always prioritize what needs to be repaired because they know that most customers are on a budget. “We’ll tell you what you need to have fixed and what you can hold off on,” Chuck assures.

“But one thing is for sure, we will never compromise safety. Plus, our goal is to fix your car properly—the first time.”
