After having spent 44 years in the remodeling business, Bob Gallese, owner of Acclaim Renovations & Design, thought he had seen it all. That is until a client asked him to build her a she shed. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he said, why not?
“We had done a lot of other remodeling work already within this home in Concord Township, then she asked us to also build her a she shed,” he says.
What they ended up with was a 16-by-20-foot structure that provides a little extra room for storage, as well as a cozy gathering area with seating and desk space for her laptop. She added her own personal touch with elegant window treatments. The gracious glass double doors allow plenty of light in on dark days, and open onto a charming landscaped sitting area adjacent to the shed. The chocolate and cream siding with white trim matched the home’s exterior and fence perfectly.
“Yes, there are kits for she sheds out there, but we wanted to create something esthetically beautiful, with all the bells and whistles the homeowner wanted,” he says. Many folks run electricity to their she sheds so they can enjoy them year-round with space heaters.
“A great-looking structure like this can add value to a home when people go to sell,” he adds. “Who wouldn’t want a built-in hideaway?”
