In honor of Brookway Hearing Center’s tenth anniversary, Owner Robert Pavlik, Jr. (standing third from right next to Mayor Thomas Perciak and a few of his staff members) hosted a picnic for 130 of his clients at the Strongsville Chalet.

More than 130 people spending a sunny afternoon in the park, enjoying good food, good music and good company.

Sound like a family reunion?

Pretty close, says Robert Pavlik Jr., a board certified hearing instrument specialist, audioprosthologist who, with his wife, Michelle, owns Brookway Hearing Center, in Strongsville.

“We like to treat our clients like a part of our family,” Robert explains during a special customer appreciation event to celebrate Brookway’s 10th year in Strongsville. “Today we’re treating them to a picnic.”

The lunchtime sounds emanating from the Cleveland Metroparks Chalet were music to the ears of the attending Brookway clients, who feasted on Famous Dave’s barbecue and Honey Hut ice cream and swayed to the tunes of The Good Knights, a local band that appropriately specializes in “songs you love but haven’t heard in years.”

Enhancing people’s ability to hear, Robert says, is the reason he got into this business. But doing that involves more than selling people the latest one-size-fits-all device.

“Our real job is to enhance your ability to hear as well as possible,” Robert insists. “That’s why we don’t sell you a hearing aid and send you on your way. The fitting is only the beginning at Brookway. After that, we’re going to be seeing you a lot. That ongoing service is what makes us different from most other hearing centers.”

When you introduce a new hearing aid, the sound signals that come in are different and your brain has to learn how to adjust, Robert explains.

“What we concentrate on at Brookway is retraining your brain to process sound so that you can understand better in the environment you’re in. That’s why we schedule a lot of follow-up visits after your fitting to fine tune your hearing aid and monitor how your brain is adapting to it. All of the visits are included in the price of your hearing aid as is a full-service program that lasts for the life of your device.

During your visits, Robert and his team, which includes licensed hearing aid specialists Susan Turano, who, along with Bob are both board certified, also Patty Spencer and Kayla Rogers, and patient care coordinators Linda Pilhartz and Vickie Titcombe, use the latest technology and techniques to analyze your ability to hear and the performance of your hearing aid.

Brookway’s homey office helps to make your visit comfortable and stress-free, Robert assures.

“From our relaxing, rustic waiting room to the steaming cup of coffee you might enjoy while awaiting your appointment, a visit to Brookway Hearing Center may feel a lot like walking into a friendly get-together,” he says. “And the friendliest thing about us…is us. A lot of that comes from the camaraderie among our team. We’ve known each other and worked together for over 15 years and we have a lot of fun.”

Brookway specializes in powerful, custom-fit invisible in-canal (IIC) hearing aids that are tailored to perfectly fit each client’s ears.

“A perfectly fit invisible in-canal device provides the best opportunity to enhance a person’s hearing and comprehension as close as possible to the way nature intended it to be,” Robert says. “Just a couple years ago, the amplification and clarity available today wasn’t achievable in the tiny units that are worn inside the ear canal.”
