Building 9 has built a solid reputation on offering contractors and DIYers a reputable source for liquidations, buy backs and closeout building products available for pennies on the dollar. In fact, says Shane Haumesser, vice president of the 45,000-square-foot operation, people regularly flock to the Medina-based warehouse to purchase things like windows, doors, cabinets, vanities, lighting, faucets, shower enclosures, tile, carpet squares, countertops, sinks, wood flooring, vinyl flooring, composite decking and more—priced way below what the box stores charge.

But Shane and his team recognize that some people can’t always strike while the iron’s hot, and they miss out on the limited-time-only deals Building 9 is known for. That’s why this year they’ve expanded their flooring options to include in-stock products like solid wood, engineered wood, tile and luxury vinyl tile available all of the time, yet still deeply discounted. Luxury vinyl starts at just $1.69 a square foot.

“We have over 100,000 square feet of budget-friendly flooring, in stock and ready to go,” Shane promises. “Because of the volume we buy, we can still offer these products to customers at a reduced cost, and the quality is better than what you’ll find at a box store.”

In addition to in-stock options, Shane says there are dozens of color and style options that can be ordered. But most people want to grab and go, which is why he offers a generous variety of cash-and-carry stock.

“We aren’t just featuring the basics,” Shane assures. “We have the flooring styles that people want in their homes. And our luxury vinyl tile selection includes different plank sizes and smooth or beveled edges.”

And while the savings at Building 9 are a DIYer’s dream, Shane promises you’ll only find top-quality merchandise on the floor and in the warehouse.

“There are no ‘B’ grades here. We have connections to some crazy deals, and you get to pay a fraction of what you’d pay at a home improvement store,” he remarks. “Our flooring is from Somerset and it’s American made. Our cabinetry comes from Aristokraft and Schrock, and it’s all top-of-the-line. We even feature three lines that you can buy and take with you the same day—no waiting.”

Homeowners designing a new kitchen space on a budget are thrilled with the quality available at Building 9. “Our cabinets are over 65 percent off regular retail and they’re made in the U.S.A.,” Shane says.

Cabinets are available all of the time and a professional kitchen designer is on-site. You don’t even need to schedule an appointment. And from Friday, September 14, until Wednesday, October 31, you’ll get a free upgrade to all-plywood construction on your cabinet purchase.

That’s huge, darling.

“Along with expert service and dramatic savings, we also specialize in a hassle-free ordering process,” Shane says. “If you want deeper cabinets, you can have them for no extra charge. If you want to reduce the depth of a base, you can do that, too, free. We also have granite starting at $55 a square foot.”

Because the close-out stock at Building 9 changes constantly, it’s a good idea to pay the building products mecca a regular visit. During Mimi’s foray, she found a truckload of first-quality windows starting at just $45.
