The weather is heating up and the great outdoors is calling. If a not-so-great deck is part of your outdoor space, Chagrin Home Improvements wants to make it an area you can be proud of.

Chagrin Home Improvements specializes in deck cleaning, staining and repair. One phone call to owner Joe Jacobs and you’re on your way to restoring your winter-worn deck to its summertime glory.

Joe grew up in Chagrin Falls and spent his college years in Florida. After graduating, he returned home and struggled to find a job utilizing his college degree. Needing to work, he fell back on what he knew from past summer jobs working for family members in different trades.

“I learned many different skills working those summer jobs, but, more importantly, I learned that I enjoyed seeing the fruits of my labor at the end of each day,” says Joe.

“I decided to take the plunge and start my own business. But I knew that if I was going to do this as a career, I needed to focus on one service. There’s a real need for professional deck restoration in this area so that’s where I decided to specialize.”

Joe knows that in the summertime in Northeast Ohio, your deck is an extension of your home’s living space. He also knows that the winter can really do a number on decks with snow, ice and extreme temperature changes. Chagrin Home Improvements will clean, repair and stain your deck so you can get the most out of this space when the weather is good, and protect this investment in your home.

“No one wants to look out back and see a crumbling, moldy deck,” says Joe.

“But the harsh conditions can sneak up on you, and your deck can get pretty bad pretty quickly. This is the situation we want to help you avoid. Once you’ve let deck maintenance go too long, there’s often no turning back. The good news is, with a deck cleaning and staining by us, your deck should hold up for two or three years in most cases.”

Joe and his crew are consummate professionals. Joe does all quotes himself and you don’t even need to be home. Just give him a call or send an email. He’ll look at your deck, take photos and measurements, and get back to you with his written quote.

“It’s a very efficient process,” says Joe. “It usually takes two days, depending on the weather, and don’t worry about being home. My guys arrive on time and get to work. They are a well-oiled machine.”

And Joe’s “guys” are more than just staff. They are friends and family.

“I’ve known these guys my whole life, and this summer I have my brother working for me, too,” says Joe. “We’re growing every day, and good workers are hard to find. I enjoy teaching friends the skills of this job and working with people I trust. We’re working together toward the same goals for this business. They’ve seen how far we’ve come and are excited to be a part of it.”

If you don’t like what you see out your window, give Joe a call and get on the schedule. There’s still time to get your deck in shape for a full summer of outdoor living.
