The proliferation of natural and organic products within the spa industry—and their positive effect on your health and well-being—was rated the number one growth trend nationally by the recent U.S. Spa Industry Study.

Here in Cleveland, only one spa has had the foresight to go all organic with products and services: Dolce Organic Salon, Med Spa and Salt Room.

And the choice has proven to be its signature to success. This spring Linda Machalicek, who owns the salon with her husband, Gary, moved into a new space in Middleburg Heights several times larger than the salon’s former one in Strongsville; and that’s given them the chance to expand on esthetic services, relaxation treatments, medical esthetic treatments, as well as state-of-the-art facilities including a European Infrared Sauna and Salt Room.

“Yes, we are still known as one of the few places in town to offer all organic hair color and nail services,” she says. “But our clients were asking for more and more chemical-free services, so we took it to the next level.”

Within the spa’s luxurious treatment suites, body, skin and mind are treated to organic facials and massage, as well as detox services such as dry brushing to reveal fresher-looking skin and improved circulation. For skin, the spa offers cutting-edge anti-aging modalities, such as MicroChanneling with stem cell serum, and the HydroPlus facial, with a diamond-tipped wand that infuses skin with targeted serums.

Meet the Doctors
As a true med spa, Linda Machalicek’s Dolce Organic Salon, Med Spa and Salt Room offers medical grade organic products for at-home skin care, facials and procedures that range from injections to fillers, serum infusion facials, microneedling, dermaplaning and laser treatments.

It’s all overseen by Medical Director Dr. Dawn Zacharias and Dr. Kelly Becker.

“Our goal is to customize treatments to each patient, with an emphasis on natural-looking effects,” says Dr. Dawn, who spent 19 years in internal medicine, allergy and immunology before coming to Dolce this spring. “We have a reputation for taking what’s already there and making it much better, not different.”

Dr. Kelly Becker practiced family medicine for 13 years specializing in dermatology and aesthetics. Her last four years have been devoted to the use of injectable fillers and laser skin resurfacing as non-invasive treatments that effectively improve the appearance of her patients.

“We set realistic expectations for each person,” she explains. “After we establish goals for them, the course of treatment often changes direction. They might come in for Botox and leave with a plan for something else. Educating them throughout the process is important.”

New Next-Gen ICON Laser
Linda is always on the lookout for the next best thing when it comes to non-invasive treatments. After researching the industry, she found the ICON Aesthetic System, which offers several modalities in one machine.

“We are one of a small handful of medical spas in Ohio to offer this laser,” says Linda.

The system is actually several lasers in one and can address wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring, stretch marks, surface veins on the face, and hair removal.

Also new this month at Dolce is the Pelleve treatment to firm and tone the body and reduce signs of cellulite.

Build it—And They Will Come
It makes perfect sense that the crowning jewel of Linda’s new med spa is the Salt Room, since that’s the reason she chose to expand in the first place.

This peaceful oasis surrounds you with a soothing, soaring wall of glowing blocks of salt, loose salt on the floor, a ceiling mural painted by an artist to mimic a never-ending night sky, and six deluxe zero gravity chaise lounges separated by billowing curtains.

As you kick back and soak it all in, pure pharmaceutical grade Himalayan salt is ingeniously pulverized by the rooms halo generator and wafts in transporting you to a place far, far away.

“In addition to relaxation and detoxification benefits, heading into cold and allergy season, people are already signing up for 45-minute sessions in advance to help their breathing and congestion,” she says.

The space is so peacefully Zen, Linda reports people have been reserving it for private spa parties. And restorative yoga classes take place the first Thursday of every month. Why not get your ohm on against a backdrop of sweet, salty serenity?
