With a new fall-inspired facial, medical-grade product line coming soon and thriving VIP Membership Program, the ladies at Shimmer Spa in Strongsville are full steam ahead into autumn.
The glam salon and spa is known for gracious service and services, all enjoyed in a setting that’s like a fairytale, with sparkling chandeliers and mirrored wall treatments.
Pumpkin Spice is In the Air
Owner Melanie Rongone and her team have cooked up the must-have Pumpkin Spice Facial.
“Beyond smelling warm and wonderful and just like Thanksgiving morning, pumpkin is actually a heavy-hitter in the ingredient department,” says Melanie, who is a licensed skincare cosmetologist. “It’s loaded with vitamins A, C and D, antioxidants that help with sun damage and wrinkles. The fruit enzymes naturally exfoliate skin cells.”
Guests can get the treatment as a mini or full hour facial, as well as combine it with other packages, including the Be Still package, which includes a massage and facial, and the Sanctuary package with a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure.
High-Performance Clinical Skincare
Shimmer Spa is a carrier of Image Skincare, and sometimes the company lets a few select spas in on a product introduction. Melanie is thrilled to bring in the new Image MD line of cosmeceutical skincare next month.
“Created by a doctor and esthetician, these medical-grade products are powerful and restorative,” she says.
Sparking Your Joy

Here’s how it works: You fill out a survey that covers your skin care needs and preferences. Then each month members choose from a customized one-hour facial or 50-minute massage with the $60 membership fee.
“Our members say the best part is all the goodies they get,” says Melanie. “Each month they receive a subscription box filled with amazing travel- and full-sized products we curate just for them.”

Spooktacular Nail Art
“At this time of year, our nail techs really shine,” says Melanie. “We do a lot of gorgeous Halloween freehand art. Sammie is gifted at matching costumes and recreating freehand Pinterest nail art. It’s a good idea to book ahead for freehand nail art and have an inspiration photo ready to go.”
She says they have also just introduced a new Structured Gel Polish Manicure.
“This technology does not produce fumes, yet creates a beautiful molded look,” she says. “Made from a rubber-based gel with highly pure ingredients, it’s flexible enough to withstand plenty of hand-washing, and fillable, so the strength builds over time without needing full soak offs in between.”
