When Shawn Medina was 14 years old, he bought his first roadster—a fire engine-red 1986 Mustang GT—and lovingly restored it so by the time he got his license he could hit the road in style.

Since then he estimates he’s owned more than 30 cars, and his affinity for the automobile has never waned.

While working at Ford Motor Company, he still dabbled in taking care of cars in his off hours. In 2009, he decided to listen to all the people urging him to open his own detailing business, founding Next Level Auto Detailing in Berea.

“I have the technology, the machinery and the expertise to detail and protect any automobile to the point that it looks as good, if not better, than the day it left the lot,” says Shawn.

Good, Better, Best Ways to Wash Your Car
“Friction is the number one enemy of a beautiful exterior,” he says.

“When you go into one of those drive-thru car washes, you might as well be rubbing your car down with sandpaper. Not only are the aggressive bristles breaking down your sealant, but the brushes are actually taking microparticles from all the cars before you in line and whipping them against your car.”

He says laser washes are a little better than manual brushes, as they don’t touch your car physically, but the best way is a gentle hand wash.

Hand washing is just the beginning of his classic detailing services, which include blow-drying, waxing, tire dressing, and complete cleaning of the interior, from leather seats to windows and carpet.

To fit any budget, he offers a variety of packages, from an Express Detail starting at just $99 to Full Detail starting at $299, as well as a la carte interior and exterior detailing services.

Getting a Glossy, Impenetrable Finish
After machine-polishing your car, Shawn recommends going the extra mile and protecting its finish.

“Every car requires a different method of protective coating,” says Shawn.

“Two of my most popular systems are the Ceramic Pro Paint Coating and XPel Clear Film, which make the car’s surface shiny, smooth and slick. The paint color is refreshed, too, and a UV shield ensures it will stay that way. It protects your car from rock chips and road debris, as well as harsh road salt, that might mar the finish.”

He says these protectants can keep your car looking showroom-new for years to come.

In addition to protective coatings, Shawn also offers corrective paint services, specialty wheels and window tinting.

Impressing a Picky Bunch of Car Owners
When it comes to higher-end luxury cars, the owners are exacting and particular about the services their beloved automobiles receive. So that makes the slew of five-star reviews Shawn routinely receives online that much more impressive.

Says Michael V., who services his Porsche 911 Turbo at Next Level,

“Shawn’s attention to detail is bar none. He is so good at what he does and works so hard. I would enthusiastically endorse Next Level to anyone who wants that ‘wow’ factor for their vehicle—inside and out.”
