The Gutter Boys started their business in the early fall of 2001, so it’s with a bit of nostalgia that Ken Wilson and Anthony Alberino look back at the past 17 autumns.

“We’ve gone from working neighborhoods door to door with fliers to serving thousands of clients throughout Northeast Ohio,” says Ken. “In the beginning, we didn’t have computers or cell phones. I used to handwrite our clients and jobs on a legal pad that I had to rewrite anytime there were changes.”

This month, as part of this family-owned operation’s upward growth trajectory, The Gutter Boys is expanding into the Columbus market.

“I’m originally from Columbus, and Anthony is from Cleveland, so we are two local boys serving the Buckeye state,” says Ken. “Ironically, I grew up on a farm in Sunbury, and learned everything I know about trees from an arborist who taught me. And now I follow the trees’ leaf drop as part of predicting how busy we’ll be. I guess you could say we’ve come full circle.”

Always Putting Clients First
From the first phone call, in which a friendly, knowledgeable person assesses the job and sets up an appointment, to performing the job, whether you are at the home or not, and follow-up afterward to make sure you are pleased with the service, The Gutter Boys have adopted a customer-centered way of doing business.

“Our approach is based on honesty and transparency,” says Ken. “There are no high-pressure sales tactics or gimmicks. Our professional technicians are highly trained. They show up to every job eager to provide the highest level of service in the industry.”

And after every job, someone from the team follows up with a friendly phone call, email, or survey. We work hard to make sure every single customer is satisfied with their project.

Creating an unparalleled service experience is what drives us, he says. “We do that by offering the most responsive customer service in town. We are always looking for input on how we can perform better.”

End Gutter Cleaning Forever
Ken and Anthony have been up on thousands of roofs and have seen the good, bad and ugly of gutter guards.

“Why is one model better than another?” Anthony asks. “It comes down to creating the ideal balance of letting in just enough water to run through the system, while keeping out leaves, debris and pests.”

With this in mind, the gentlemen researched the market to bring the best gutter guards to the Cleveland area: Valor Gutter Guards.

Exclusive to Gutter Boys, these guards feature an advanced micro-mesh design and a patented S-curve design that withstands even the heaviest rainfall.

“They impressed us with their design and extreme durability,” says Anthony. And the warranty is equally impressive: The company is confident enough to offer an industry-leading, lifetime, fully-transferable warranty on the product.

Foliage Report: Hot off the Press
The above average rainfall in the summer, and slightly warmer than average temperatures over the past month, should mean a nice long fall season, reports Ken, with peak colors lasting through late October.

“You can expect the leaf drop to begin just after the peak color,” he says. “And as soon as they drop, the sooner you stop them from clogging your gutter system, the better.”

He points out that with their current offer of a free gutter cleaning with a guard installation, there has never been a better time to de-gunk anything currently residing in your gutters and avoid ever having to call a gutter cleaning service again.
