Here’s how the team at Pristine Clean can get your concrete ready for the ravages of winter

September is the ideal month to have the team at Pristine Clean wash away the grime from summer and prep your concrete to withstand the rough winter months ahead.

For the same reason a squirrel gathers nuts as summer fades to fall, it’s a shrewd idea to get your concrete cleaned, sealed and protected now. As soon as the temps dip, it’ll be too late.

“September and October are big months for concrete,” says Ken Wilson, who, along with Anthony Alberino, owns Pristine Clean. “The daily temperatures are ideal, especially in September, for our sealants to penetrate and protect your concrete driveway.”

He says esthetics are important, and their clients’ driveways look like new after a treatment, but protecting the concrete by cleaning and sealing it every other year is critical to ensuring its long life.

“The cost of concrete and labor has soared over the past few years,” he reports. “The average price of a new concrete driveway is $7,500-10,000, which makes this an investment well worth protecting.”

Preventing Chipping, Pitting, Cracking
“Water can be most damaging to concrete’s structure,” says Ken. “It penetrates into the molecules, then when it freezes it can expand and take up to nine percent more space. Our goal in sealing is to fill those molecular spaces so water cannot penetrate them, ensuring the integrity of the concrete.”

Using high-tech walk-behind cleaning units, the well-trained techs deep clean the concrete to clear it of dirt and contaminants. Then they apply a sealer made of silane-siloxane, which chemically reacts to create a hydrophobic barrier.

“Not to get overly technical, but we use this combination because silane fills the smallest spaces, and siloxane expands into bigger spaces,” he explains.

“After the application, our premium sealer will also resist staining and protect your driveway and walkways against further contaminants, such as oils or road salt,” he says.

In addition to concrete clean and seal services, Pristine Clean also power washes homes and decks and cleans roofs. If you haven’t had your home power washed this season, Ken says it’s still in your home’s long-term best interest to eliminate built-up grime, algae and moss from the siding and roof before winter hits.

Best Price, Up Front, End of Story
Ken and Anthony have vowed to steer clear of any suspicious or gimmicky pricing practices.

“We feel honesty and professionalism are the main reasons for our growth trajectory,” says Ken.

“We always take the time to explain what we are doing,” says Ken.

“After all, we are in the business of helping people take the best care of their homes, and we respect what an important job that is. That’s why we hire the best technicians and extensively train and certify them, as well as use top products and advanced machinery.”
