Here’s how you can whip up your own bath, body and skincare products at the sensational new Fawn & Fanny

When you walk into the newly opened Fawn & Fanny store, your senses are immediately awakened. From luscious fragrances to silky soft lotions, you can handcraft your own bath, body and skincare products at this interactive specialty boutique.
Using a mixing bowl, whisk, spatula and piping bag, customers blend their own ingredients and bottle their products in the posh Formulating Studio, complete with an oversized marble island. There also is a chic Raw Bar workstation, with vegan-hide bar stools, and two private party rooms where you can concoct your very own products.
This innovative concept is the brainchild of owner Christine Benci. With a background in design, along with a love of entertaining, she has put her heart and soul into this new 2,070-square-foot retail space. Personal touches are everywhere, as she even incorporated a ribbon from a baby gift bag she saved when her son was born years ago. Now it’s the inspiration for the product packaging.
“We are a new destination where you can stop in before or after dinner, during the day with children or on weekends with a group of friends,” says Christine. “We provide a fun activity for all ages.”
How it Works
You can drop in anytime during store hours to make your own products in as little as 10 minutes. The hardest decision is what you want to make, as there is everything from body lotions to body butter, hand soaps, shampoos, body sprays and even pet products.
There are more than 20 unscented base products to choose from and over 50 natural, raw and specialty ingredients that can be used to boost the skin-nourishing properties of your personalized products.
“Our bases are free of dyes and fragrances and are stripped of all unnecessary chemicals and additives because we believe what you put on your body is as important as what you put in it,” says Christine. “We have natural and organic base products that you can scent with essential oils or fragrance oils.”
Some of the favorite scents are Eucalyptus Spearmint, Cool Citrus Basil and Lemon Pound Cake, along with some playful ones like Fruit Loops and Monkey Farts. And the store has its own signature scent that can be best described as fresh and light.
If you want to boost your product you can add items like aloe vera, shea butter, and vitamin E at the Raw Bar.
For those who don’t want to handcraft their own products, the store’s shelves are stocked with small-batch, ready-made products. “Our products make thoughtful gifts,” says Christine. “We have everything from men’s beard oils to bath bombs to pet shampoos.”
Independently owned and operated by a female entrepreneur, the store offers an alternative to the more expensive national beauty chains.
“We offer many duplicate designer scents at one-third the cost of the national brands,” says Christine. “Most everything in our store is less than $10.”
Party Central
If you are looking for a fun venue to host a party, Fawn & Fanny is your party headquarters. From children’s birthday parties to glam gram parties to corporate team building workshops, Fawn & Fanny offers a unique party venue.
There are two private party rooms, each with a large farmhouse table where you can make your own products, along with a lounge area where you can open gifts and bring in your own wine, drinks and appetizers.
“For private parties, there is an eight-person minimum,” notes Christine. “We also can do larger parties and rent out the entire store like we just did for a mother-daughter sorority event for more than 150 people.”
