With the Lenten season upon us, many people are looking to avoid meat during the long sacrifice without giving up flavor and diversity.

Enter Mr. G’s Pizzeria and Wings and their annual Lenten Specials menu, which includes Jumbo Lobster Ravioli—large ravioli stuffed with lobster and two cheeses (ricotta and Parmesan) and smothered in a garlic Alfredo sauce. The $15.99 price includes bread and your choice of a homemade soup or a fresh salad.

Or try the Portobello Mushroom Ravioli. These ravioli are stuffed with flavorful Portobello mushrooms and served with homemade marinara sauce topped with classic melted mozzarella cheese, $12.99.

The homemade Vegetable Lasagna is classic Italian comfort food featuring layers of carrots, mushrooms, and spinach with both ricotta and mozzarella cheeses while the Baked Stuffed Rigatoni is packed with ricotta cheese, smothered in homemade marinara and topped with freshly grated mozzarella. Either entrée is also just $12.99.

The Giardina family’s take on the classic Lenten Fish-fry features flaky white fish fried to a golden brown, plus french fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce and hushpuppies. It comes in at just $9.99, but it’s served only on Wednesdays and Fridays during Lent. All of the other Lenten Special entrées above are served every day—until Easter.

Mr. G’s regular menu features plenty of non-meat entrées. In fact, half of the items are completely meatless, including Pasta Alio Olio for just $9.99; Mrs. G’s Famous Gnocchi, $12.99; Fettucini Alfredo or Baked Ziti for $10.99; and Eggplant Parmesan, Stuffed Shells or the all-new Tower of Eggplant for $13.99.

And meatless pizza toppings include cheese, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers, hot peppers, spinach, green olives, onions, fresh tomatoes, pineapple, banana peppers, garlic, basil, eggplant, broccoli, and roasted red peppers.

And if you’ve given up the gluten, be sure to try Mr. G’s gluten-free pizza. It’s so delicious, no one will know it’s wheat-less.
