Just because we’re dealing with a pandemic doesn’t mean now cannot be “the most wonderful time of the year.”

The staff and management at Vista Springs Ravinia has gone into North Pole mode this holiday season, creating a winter wonderland for its members, both indoors and out.

“In keeping with our ‘Full of Life’ philosophy, we still seek to transform ordinary expectations into truly extraordinary experiences,” says Beth Bowman, director of business development.

Vista Springs Ravinia will be hosting a Winter Wonderland, planned for Fridays, December 11 and 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.

“We invite the community to our socially distanced event, which will include photos with Santa, who will be situated within an ornament archway, hot cocoa, music, take-home packets of reindeer food for the kids and a special mailbox for dropped-off letters ensured to go straight to 123 Candy Cane Lane,” says Beth. “The community is invited to drive through and view our holiday lights display featuring handmade holiday scenes, including beloved Peanuts characters, gingerbread houses and even the abominable snowman.”

“We understand the holidays may look a little different for everyone this year and we want to bring as much joy as we can by increasing programming and adding extra events for all to enjoy,” she says.

A Caregiver’s Perspective
Vista Springs Ravinia Managing Partner Sheila James is always looking for top talent to join their team.

“Our caregivers are cherished and appreciated,” says Sheila.

And the feeling is mutual. Caregiver Linda Mullet says she gets as much as she gives.

“The community members have touched my heart,” she says. “My mother was a nurse, and that’s where I think I get my compassion from. Working in our Rediscovery Neighborhood, I feel that I have found my niche and true calling as they fill my heart with so much joy.”

Linda adds, “At the end of the workday, I feel as though my day with our community members is not complete, as I am already looking forward to tomorrow.”

The residents and staff are looking forward to the Covid vaccine so they can plan fieldtrips and activities for the spring and summer.
With posh interiors and amenities, each suite offers a breathtaking view of the grounds or courtyard as well as loads of storage space and laundry facilities.

Looking Ahead to a Brighter New Year
Beth says they have been vigilant when it comes to precautions and following the Governor’s orders.

“We are thankful that our families and community members trust us completely, and view us as a safe place,” says Beth. “Now is not the time to be home alone. We hope that people currently living at home truly understand the benefits of joining a community such as Vista Springs Ravinia.”

Since opening in summer of 2019, Vista Springs has earned a reputation for providing a top-tier, resort-like experience for area seniors. The luxurious facility turns the standard model of senior care upside-down, with a holistic approach that emphasizes making the most of these years.

The facility encompasses 94 spacious studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites—including 24 units in the Rediscovery Neighborhood exclusively for memory care. Five-diamond amenities, such as three spas, a theater, fitness center, bistro and state-of-the-art exhibition kitchen, encourage folks to engage in life to the fullest.

With seniors and senior care workers amongst the first to receive the Covid vaccine, hopefully starting this month, Sheila says they are already looking forward to fieldtrips and activities next spring and summer, with transportation provided in their wheelchair-accessible shuttle.

“And as soon as it’s allowed, you can also mark your calendar for a grand reopening party to welcome back families and community members,” says Beth.

Vista Springs Ravinia is located at 6046 Brecksville Road, just north of Rockside Road, in Independence. Small dogs are welcome. Schedule a Zoom call or virtual tour. For more information, call 216-232-4900 or visit
