Minkin's Music: Voices In The Valley returns

With the busy holiday period just around the corner, it’s time to set your sights on a very special show slated for Saturday, January 12. Voices In The Valley will be presenting Towpath Troubadours, a selection of songs featuring some of the finest singer/songwriters in the area. Sharing the stage will be Rachel Brown (piano), Ray Flanagan (guitar), Al Moss (pedal steel), Tom Prebish (bass), and band leader Brent Kirby (drums). The show will be presented in the intimate and historic G.A.R. Hall, located at the crossroads of Route 303 and Riverview Road in Peninsula.

All of these talented musicians have been lauded with accolades both locally and nationally. Rachel Brown has been charming audiences with her backing band, The Beatnik Playboys, Al Moss as a longtime member of Hillbilly Idol, and Ray Flanagan as the young genius guitar player with his band, The Authority. Kirby splits time playing solo guitar, leading Brent Kirby & His Luck, or as a member of The Jack Fords. When not being everybody’s favorite bass player, Tom Prebish performs with The Boys From Country Hell. Some nights you never know who will be paired with whom, but on this night they will all perform together on one stage as this writer’s dream team.

Tickets for the Towpath Troubadour show are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, but don’t chance it as this event will likely sell out. Chef Ron Ramos will be preparing flatbread pizzas, cheese plates, snacks and desserts as well as a full bar station that includes a large selection of craft beer. Weekly Voices In The Valley events are part of The Peninsula Foundation support for the arts community spearheaded by the tireless efforts of Karen Walters.
