Opened by Rob Berg this spring, Royalton CBD Wellness Boutique offers a wide range of products, from oils and soaps to lotions and beverages.

“I found my passion for CBD four years ago when I was introduced to it to help my anxiety,” says Rob. “Almost overnight I felt better than I had in years. Nothing else had produced such an effect for me. It was life changing. By opening this store, my hope is to help others undergo a transformation like I did.”

His customers range from 20-somethings to 80-somethings with needs as diverse as sports performance to pain relief from arthritis.

“Whether someone is already a fan of CBD and is looking for a place to buy the best quality products or is just curious and wants to find out more, we’re the place for that,” says Rob. “We ask a lot of questions to find the best-fit products.”

CBD 101: Origin and Benefits
Found naturally in the cannabis plant, CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound that produces a range of benefits to body, mind and spirit. It’s said to soothe aching muscles and joints, improve cardiovascular health and lessen inflammation, migraines, depression and anxiety, just to name a few.

What it won’t do is make you “high” like marijuana, because it’s a different substance and does not have psychoactive qualities.

Its history dates back to 2727 BC, when an emperor in China tried a cannabis-based tea to help with his ailments.

Available at Royalton CBD Wellness Boutique, CBD is said to soothe aching muscles and joints, improve cardiovascular health and lessen inflammation, migraines, depression and anxiety.

Body Care
Rob’s cousin, Julie Taylor, is also a devotee of CBD. She says it helped her daughter with epilepsy get off her medication and lessen her seizures.

“I started making my own small batches of soaps, lip balms, face masks and body butters, infusing them with all-natural elements like shea butter, cocoa butter and CBD,” she says. “As soon as Rob started selling them here, they took off.”

Rob reports the staff pick is her intensely rich Vanilla Birch Body Butter, which smells divine and imparts a soft, silky feel.

Aromatherapy candles are also big sellers, and so are CBD gummies and oils.

“And lots of my customers buy products for their pets, whether to calm anxiety or for pain relief in older dogs,” he says.

Earthy, Back-to-Nature Vibe
With live edge tables, shelves and counters, corrugated galvanized steel, a native American rug and a barn door, the vibe at Royalton CBD is organic and modern farmhouse. It’s a place where you’d like to kick back and stay awhile.

Rob’s brother, Arthur, is an artist who created the furniture and stunning art on the walls.

All About the Education
Rob says he is still undergoing continuing education from one of his biggest suppliers, Cleveland-based Limitless CBD.

He notes there are online teaching events and classes at their facility downtown.

“With farms in Oregon and Montana, I’ve seen their quality standards and believe in the quality of the products, which are all third-party tested,” says Rob. “This is a budding industry that’s just starting to take off. I’m excited to be one of the first in the area to bring a wellness boutique like this to the people who need it.”
