Dr. Milton Ntragatakis and Dr. Brittany Heffernan’s Brunswick KiDDS Pediatric Dentistry journey may be an illustrious one, but they are no strangers to adversity.

Especially Dr. Milton, who immigrated from Greece to the United States in 1998 and studied at Case Western Reserve University. He then worked in the pediatric dental program at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where he rose to the position of chief resident.

“I can relate to unforeseen circumstances that can bring anybody—even a dentist— to the brink of financial despair,” says Dr. Milton, owner of the practice. “When I first started working as a dentist, I struggled while I was paying off college debt, living in a 500-square-foot apartment and driving an unreliable car.”

Now, as his business is flourishing, he wants to give back to the community and help others along their life journeys.

“We both understand that support from our community was critical to our success,” he says. “It is now our turn to invest in our community.”

One way he is accomplishing this goal is by partnering with the Academy of GP Orthodontics as a training site for dentists.

“Children can get braces at a lower cost when they participate in these courses,” says Dr. Milton.

“While teaching licensed dentists new and advanced techniques in orthodontic treatment, area children are reaping the benefits—especially those in families that otherwise may not be able to afford braces. We are part of this community and feel it is our responsibility to enhance the quality of life of our residents.”

“We believe that all kids should have access to orthodontics,” adds Dr. Heffernan. “Our mission has always been to provide the best and most advanced dental care, and now we are making it affordable for everyone.”

Not only is Brunswick KiDDS hosting these orthodontics continuing education courses at its office, but Drs. Milton and Heffernan, along with other qualified instructors, supervise the dentists to ensure all patients receive the same quality care their practice is known for.

As part of their extensive pediatric dental training, Drs. Milton and Heffernan completed two additional years of training after dental school in pediatric dentistry, which included orthodontic training exclusively for children through adolescence, as well as those with special needs.

Brunswick KiDDS has become successful over the years by offering individualized care for patients and achieving beautiful results.

Offering traditional metal braces, ceramic braces and Invisalign clear aligners, Drs. Milton and Heffernan consult with each patient to evaluate his or her teeth to determine the best course of treatment. The dentists recommend that children get evaluated by the age of seven to determine if early corrective action is necessary to avoid more complex treatments later.

“Regardless of the specific treatment plan, we are dedicated to providing the best dental care,” says Dr. Heffernan. “It is not important how big our practice grows, but how much impact we make in the lives of children.”

In addition to orthodontics, Brunswick KiDDS offers dental care for newborns up to 18-year-olds, specializing in the prevention of dental disease and providing laser dentistry for virtually pain-free procedures.
