What looks like an unassuming storefront in the middle of a retail shopping center in North Olmsted is actually a spacious and elegant flooring and tile showroom.

Opened last year, The Dover Flooring & Tile Center offers a VIP experience from start to finish, with a hand-picked group of highly seasoned tradespeople installing top-of-the-line, performance-driven products with an ultra-reliable level of customer service.

“We specialize in total turnkey solutions for doing as much or as little as homeowners want,” says Manager Tschaun Procaccini, an industry veteran of nearly 20 years.

“Our clients have come to know us as discriminating. We build relationships through trust, dependability and transparency.”

As a division of Dover Home Remodeling, the award-winning contractor that’s delighted homeowners in Greater Cleveland with beautiful renovations for more than 35 years, Tschaun says their unique perspective and product knowledge has shaped their approach to the retail flooring market.

One Jaw-Dropping Showroom
Thousands of samples from which to choose in the well-appointed showroom represent the best in flooring and tile products, natural stone, hardwoods, luxury vinyl tile, laminate and carpet.

Hard surface flooring accounts for about 80 percent of their flooring sales, with carpeting coming in at 20 percent. If there’s a similarity between both of them, it’s the increasing number of styles that are water-resistant and extremely durable.

Thousands of samples from which to choose in the well-appointed Dover Floor & Tile showroom represent the best in flooring and tile products, natural stone, hardwoods, luxury vinyl tile, laminate and carpet.

“We’ve chosen products that are manufactured and milled to the industry’s highest quality and performance standards,” he says.

The showroom is a great place for home design inspiration. It features a host of application ideas for floors, backsplashes, tile inlays, shower enclosures, feature walls, bars, outdoor kitchens and more.

“We help customers streamline their selection process, showing colors and textures we know complement each other beautifully,” he says.

A Master Bath Oasis
Tschaun reports one of their niches lies in designing and bringing to life glorious master bathrooms.

An expansive luxury shower is ever popular in renovations. As trained and certified Schluter Shower Drain dealers, Dover Floor and Tile Center is able to create large, inviting, barrier-free showers that are engineered to be waterproof.

And Tschaun and his fearless staff don’t like to say no when it comes to making customers’ visions come true. These guys like to design outside the box.

He mentions one job for a client who wanted his lower level bathroom to feature a winding “path” of sculpted pebble-like tiles cut within existing tile flooring leading into the bathroom.

“It took some finesse for our guys to cut the tiles to fit, but the end result was quite stunning,” he says.

“Inside the bathroom, the gentleman wanted us to create a faux wood beam on the shower ceiling and have the spray come out of it, which we did with recessed heads. We first met him at the NARI show, and all of the other companies he asked to consider the renovation told him they couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do the job, as it was so tricky. For me, it was a challenge accepted and we had a terrific time making it happen. There isn’t much we cannot do.”

What’s Hot in Home Remodeling
Tschaun and his design staff have their fingers on the pulse point of what the finer homes in Cleveland are doing with their renovations.

Here’s what’s trending:

  • In hard-surface flooring, wider planks with hand-scraped and distressed finishes are still popular.
  • Area rugs that are custom cut to fit a room or specific area.
  • Cool gray tones are slowly changing over to warmer shades of multi-dimensional grays and browns.
  • For tile backsplashes, classic three-by-six-inch subway tiles are getting bigger. And intricate patterns and three-dimensional shapes-within-shapes are also hot right now.

Where Education Meets Transparency
“With every job, we take education seriously,” he says.

“Our experts help you choose the products that suit your personal design style—and that will best perform based on application and project specifications. Our goal is for customers to make informed decisions on the products that will add the most value to their home and enjoyment to their lives.”

Finally, he explains, their installers maintain a meticulous job site as well.

“Our customers always comment that working with us is a different experience than working with other contractors,” he says.

January and February are busy months for them, with hibernating homeowners looking to make their home the best it can be.
