The price of gold is hitting an all-time high. Now might be the perfect time to cash in, says Cara Reider, owner of Chagrin Gold & Coins in Bainbridge. “I can take your old, broken, or never-worn jewelry off your hands and put some, or maybe a lot, of cash into them,” she promises.

Cara’s husband, Clint, owns Ohio Gold & Coins in Painesville, and each operates their own unique store independently.

“A big part of this business, and maybe the best part, is hearing the stories behind what people bring in,” says Cara. “So many of us have jewelry that’s not being enjoyed or even worn at all. The memories attached to certain jewelry or family heirlooms are not always good. Why not bring it to me and get the money to create some new, positive memories?”

Cara says people often come in ready to finally get rid of a wedding ring after a divorce.

“It’s time to start fresh, take that money, and do something meaningful for yourself.”

Cara will buy gold, silver, coins and other small collectibles and carries a variety of these for sale in the shop.

Bring your old, broken or unworn jewelry into Chagrin Falls Gold & Coins and owner Cara Reider will pay you cash for it—on the spot.

Have some old sterling silver household items such as silverware sets and tea sets? Bring them to Chagrin Falls Gold & Coins for cash.

“I’ll try to give you an estimate over the phone if it’s a specific description, or simply bring it in,” says Cara. “I’ll make you an offer and you leave with your cash. But don’t leave before you check out the jewelry, coins and other collectibles.”

Cara says people often don’t know the worth of something so they stick it in a drawer to collect dust.

“I love it when someone comes in and says, ‘I got this from my grandfather and forgot all about it; is it worth anything?’” says Cara. “When we tell them it’s worth much more than they ever expected, they’re thrilled. Coin collectors love stopping in to comb through my collection. There are some rare finds.”

Cara prides herself on paying the highest percentages in Ohio.

“Gold and silver prices fluctuate daily,” says Cara. “I weigh your items and make you an offer based on a percentage of the worth and you’re under no obligation to accept. What have you got to lose?”

You may gain more than extra cash this holiday season. You might check a few people off that holiday list.

“Coins make great gifts for kids and adults,” says Cara. “And customers love the vintage, art-deco jewelry pieces and I have them at great prices,” says Cara. “Instead of going to the mall, why not find something truly unique you won’t see anyplace else?”

Chagrin Falls Gold & Coins also does jewelry repair and redesign if you’d like to keep what you have but update the look.

“My jeweler loves to create a custom engagement ring or redesign, or fix an old piece and give it new life,” says Cara. “It makes people happy to sell unused items for cash, or to repair something broken. And it makes me happy to be a part of it.”

When you stop in to see Cara, don’t forget Bear, her rescue dog. Bear, like everything at Chagrin Falls Gold & Coins, has his own story to tell.

Whether it’s the past or the future you’re working on, Cara can help you with that.
