Just in time to clean away the dirt and grime on our cars—especially the road salt spread on the streets when the temperatures plummet—Splash Car Wash is rolling out new upgrades at its Fairlawn and Green locations.

Spread over five acres, the Fairlawn car wash mecca attracts customers from neighboring cities who travel to Splash for an unsurpassed wash experience. At the cornerstone is a wash tunnel equipped with the latest technology that meticulously washes every inch of your vehicle, as well as a new, cutting-edge express interior cleaning tunnel that moves your vehicle through on a conveyor belt system.

The major expansion is nearing completion and the new wash tunnel is tentatively slated to open in October. The new express interior cleaning tunnel, which is being built parallel to the car wash tunnel, is projected to open in 2020.

The major Splash expansion, at the Fairlawn location, is nearing completion and the new wash tunnel is tentatively slated to open in October. The new express interior cleaning tunnel, which is being built parallel to the car wash tunnel, is projected to open in 2020.

Splash Car Wash opened in Fairlawn in 2015 and the second location in Green opened in 2017. “We will also be updating the Green location to include many of the same amenities and upgrades that the Fairlawn location features,” says Joe Mallo, of the locally owned and operated family business, along with his father John and brother JJ.

Both Splash locations feature high-pressure water nozzles, Neoglide material that’s designed to safely clean all paint types, foamy detergents and protecting agents to clean your vehicle effectively with newly installed equipment.

New Car Wash Tunnel
Splash Car Wash in Fairlawn will feature three separate tunnels for washing the outside of your car, cleaning the interior and polishing the exterior. There will be 30-plus vacuum stations where you can clean out the inside of your car yourself.

The new wash tunnel is 175 feet long and has a conveyor belt that allows people to effortlessly drive onto the wide belt. The grand entrance features an automated system that preps your vehicle to be washed with 360-degree coverage. At the very end is a new frictionless turbo blow drying system.

With a bright red and blue color scheme and a fun vibe, the new tunnel has a wall of windows on the west side and a curved glass roof allowing light to stream in.

“Once the new tunnel is completed, Splash will be offering a fourth level of wash and wash package tier,” says Joe, noting the monthly packages will be displayed on signage when you pull in explaining all the different options.

One of the options is a robust undercarriage flushing, which can help remove road salt and sludge off your car, along with a Rustite rust inhibitor.

“If you wash your car a minimum of three times per month under the same wash tier, you’re saving time and money buying a monthly package versus purchasing regularly priced washes,” says Mike Ciriello, general manager.

“And during the snowy winters, you’re likely to wash your car a lot more often than that—sometimes every day.”

Express Interior Cleaning
A separate tunnel will focus on the inside of your car, cleaning carpets, upholstery, seats, dashboard, center console, windows, door jams and trunk. Your vehicle will be loaded onto the conveyor belt, where the Splash team will thoroughly clean the interior as it travels through the tunnel.

They’ll hand over your finished product at the end, in approximately 10 to 12 minutes from start to finish.

The Finishing Touches
Upon completion of the new car wash, the original car wash tunnel will then be renovated into a polishing tunnel.

Both the interior cleaning and the polishing will be available as an add-on service, after getting your car washed.

Also included in every individual car wash or package is access to vacuums for those who want to clean out their own interiors.

In addition to the existing vacuum stations, additional ones are being built skirting the new car wash area. The vacuums are also being upgraded so each of the stations will have two handles per side, allowing you to access both the smaller and larger vacuum depending on if you are vacuuming a larger area like the carpet or need one for smaller crevices.

Even with all the high-tech touches, Splash still offers personable customer service, with a kiosk area where customers will be greeted and their needs can be met in an efficient manner, all from the convenience of their vehicle.

“The Splash Car Wash locations are two of the area’s premier car washes,” Mike says. “We offer a superior product at a great value with the latest and greatest technology.”
