“Our philosophy is not just to train the dog, but to show them how to control themselves and know what’s expected of them in different situations,” —Aurelia Ford-Martin, owner of The Upbeat K9

Especially for dog owners who do not have the time or the expertise to train their furry friends, The Upbeat K9 makes things easy and convenient. In their decorated vans, a trainer can pick up your dog in the morning and take them to their training facility, work with them throughout the day and then return him or her to your home in the evening. Sessions run for either five or 10 days.

For a higher level of intensity, they can board and train your dog, with packages available in 7-day, 14-day and 21-day sessions.

Every package includes refresher lessons in the package cost for up to a year after training takes place. Group training sessions are offered at local pet stores.

Teaching Any Age of Dog New Tricks
The Upbeat trainers teach all the basic commands, as well as social skills around other dogs and people, in a calming, positive and open-minded approach.

Potty training for puppies is offered, as well as training to get rid of some common misbehaviors including jumping on guests, digging, nuisance barking, leash pulling, separation anxiety and general aggression.

Dogs are emotional beings, just like humans and respond better to different modalities. Aurelia and her team figure out the best way to motivate them. They work with dogs of any age and breed, as dogs are lifelong learners, and can start training as soon as a puppy has had its second round of shots. Consultations are free.

Upbeat K9’s program is customized to each dog and trainer, nothing with this service is one-size-fits-all.

In addition to training, dog walking services are also available.
