In 2003, the unforgettable Mimi Vanderhaven met with a group of creative and passionate women and men to present her plan to launch a publication dedicated to what she termed, “Preserving business diversity.”

She believed that our community would embrace a publication that simultaneously supported quality, locally owned businesses and treated its readers like ladies and gentlemen.

The result was the founding of Mimi Magazine, a monthly publication highlighting the heroic efforts of local entrepreneurs whose hearts are so filled with a destiny to serve that they have abandoned their cubicles to risk their life's savings to follow their own paths.

Mimi’s values are rooted in a celebration of individual creativity, the magical connection between forgiveness and excellence, and a quirky insistence on doing everything exactly opposite from what is expected. Every month, Mimi Magazine is mailed to over 270,000 homes and businesses in Northeast Ohio’s affluent outer suburbs, including:

Ambler Heights, Aurora, Avon, Avon Lake, Bath, Bay Village, Bainbridge, Beachwood, Bentleyville, Berea, Boston Heights, Bratenahl, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Brunswick, Chagrin Falls, Chardon, Chesterland, Concord, Copley, Columbia Station, Fairlawn, Fairview Park, Gates Mills, Green, Highland Heights, Hinckley, Hudson, Hunting Valley, Independence, Jackson, Lake, Little Italy, Kirtland, Kirtland Hills, Mayfield Village, Medina, Mentor, Middleburg Heights, Moreland Hills, Newbury, North Olmsted, North Royalton, Novelty, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, Orange, Painesville Township, Plain, Parma, Parma Heights, Peninsula, Pepper Pike, Richfield, Rocky River, Seven Hills, Shaker Heights, Sharon Center, Solon, South Russell, Strongsville, Twinsburg, Wadsworth, West Akron, Waite Hill, Westlake, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Woodmere, Uniontown, University Circle, University Heights, Valley City, and growing.

Think Local. Those two words have been the heart of Mimi Vanderhaven's brand since our inception in 2003.

As her readers know, Mimi is dedicated to supporting locally owned businesses and ensuring that the people of Northeast Ohio have significant choice in how they live their lives—including shopping, dining, healthcare, home improvement and more.

Although Mimi Magazine welcomes certain advertisements from national chains in Northeast Ohio, we do not produce editorial content for non-regionally-based national chains that already have significant market share or brand awareness among our readers. While we value and appreciate the positive local impact such businesses can have on our community, our editorial voice is reserved for informing our readers about less well-known product and service options to enhance their lives.

The publication of any content is at the sole discretion of Mimi Magazine, and we reserve the right to refuse any advertisement at any time.

Mimi’s editorial and advertising missions are perfectly aligned. This means her editorial resources are dedicated exclusively to presenting quality, locally owned businesses to her adoring fans. Plus, her calendar (in print and now online) is filled with hundreds of community events. Claims one local political leader, “I use Mimi’s Calendar every issue to decide which events to attend so I can interact with my constituents.”

If you're a business owner and would like to find out if your business qualifies to reach Mimi's dedicated fans, please email Mimi and one of her Marketing Strategists will contact you with more information.
