A review of your circumstances will provide insight into whether you should make a change in your medical insurance

With costs for things like food, gas and other necessities connected to everyday living continuing to inflate, most of us are trying to find ways to save money. We’re feeling the financial pinch in a way we haven’t in a while. Cutting back and making do with less works in some areas of our lives, but other expenses cannot be avoided.
I’d like to provide a ray of hope when it comes to healthcare. There may be a way for you to start saving right now on keeping your family covered.
If one member of your household has employer-sponsored health insurance, the rest of the family is likely on his or her plan. But many employers only contribute to coverage costs for the person carrying the plan—not the family members. The family members are on at full price.
This can put a strain on an already strained budget, but there could be a way for you to save.
Short-term medical insurance is typically offered at a lower cost than traditional employer-sponsored coverage, and you can put your whole family on a plan. The advantage to this option is premiums are often about half of what you’ll pay through an employer. Some disadvantages are medical underwriting and preexisting limitations.
Another option is to have your family secure coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Subsidies may be available that can reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.
With both options, a careful review of your circumstances will provide insight into whether you should make a change, or if the coverage you have is the most affordable. Give me a call. There is no charge for my guidance.
