AMC Contracting Group covers the new-build and remodeling spectrum with expertise and a diverse crew of pros

Diversity drives AMC Contracting Group’s business. The full-service contracting company undertakes a range of projects for people all over Northern Ohio, drawing from a workforce with a broad field of expertise.

The company is 50 percent women-owned. Owner/Operators David Abraham and Ryan Mitchell share ownership with their wives, Ashley Abraham and Sonia Mitchell, who are equal partners in the business.

“Women make the company run, from our administrator to our secretary, to our head of marketing. We’re a very diversified organization, employing all different types of people whose different perspectives make AMC what it is and different from every other contractor,” David says. “The more talented eyes and ears we can put on our customer’s project, the better the outcome. We think outside the box.”

For David and Ryan, people make the difference and set them apart from the other guys. For them, collaboration is the foundation for everything AMC does.

“We don’t just build buildings,” David says. “We build positive working relationships that ensure the highest levels of customer service.”

AMC prides itself on having not only the expertise and experience but also the equipment to handle residential or commercial construction projects from top to bottom, from piloting drones, processing bird’s-eye images and video, generating fresh perspectives and roofing services to concrete flatwork and excavating and everything in between.

AMC handles new home construction, additions and custom remodels, built to suit any budget, collaborating with customers using quality materials framed to their exact specifications without breaking the bank.

The company is Northern Ohio’s authorized builder for Heckaman Homes’ system-built model homes and is the area’s authorized builder for the Federal Steel Systems line of steel buildings.

Partnerships go a long way. Based in New London, AMC serves Ashland, Crawford, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Medina, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Wayne and surrounding counties.

“We like to keep our work in house,” David says. “We don’t sub out the excavating—we do it inside the company, along with our concrete. Framing, finishes, interior trim, and stuff like that are all in-house, so that we can put the attention on quality construction and customer satisfaction.”

“Since it’s our people getting the work done, we don’t have to rely on subcontractors. We’re accountable for setting accurate timelines for our customers and efficiently completing their projects to the high standard we set for ourselves,” he adds.

AMC stands by and guarantees its work a year from the project’s completion date.

“Ryan and I have a great team of people around us,” David says. “Our motto is ‘striving for excellence in all we do,’ and we really live by that. We never take the attitude that it’s just good enough, and some say that makes us perfectionists. That’s okay by us. The people who work for us are the same way—they’re perfectionists in all they do, and we’re proud to have them on board.”

Northern Ohio natives David and Ryan started as tradesmen with a passion for the industry and an entrepreneurial spirit. The long-time business partners now own and operate various sister companies complementing everything AMC does.

Last November, they started Trinity Outdoor Solutions to provide customers with a path to outdoor living that includes lawn maintenance, landscape and hardscape services.

“With all that we do, it just made sense to add an additional level of expertise,” David says. “To one extent or another, we already had a relationship with all aspects of outdoor living, and now at Trinity, we have people in place who have been doing landscapes and hardscapes for 25 to 30 years. Ryan and I don’t try to reinvent the wheel—we strive to plot a path forward to where partners and employees shine to serve our customers better.”

Outdoor living spaces provide an additional room outside the home by creating amenities like kitchens and dining areas for entertaining and firepits, patios and pools for relaxing.

AMC has a reputation for results.

“In a few short years, we’ve transformed AMC into a multimillion-dollar organization, and we’re going to be doing the same thing with Trinity,” David says.

David and Ryan established Trinity to extend AMC’s expertise and enhance its reputation to deliver for its customers.
