Are you really ready to run?
By Kyle Hotz, ACE Owner, Founder; Higher Heights Fitness
Like several of our trainers, clients and runners from all over the world, I’m gearing up to run in the 47th Annual Cleveland Marathon, Sunday, May 19. For the first time, Higher Heights is sponsoring a booth at the Health & Fitness Expo presented by University Hospitals to be held at the Huntington Center on Friday, May 17. We’ll be offering free InBody 270 scans and samples of the UnRefined meal service we offer here.
Even though running seems like an easy and natural thing for your body to do, to prepare for a race actually takes time and targeted planning, especially when it comes to strength training.
If you’re thinking of checking running a marathon off your bucket list, or starting with a 5K, 10K or half-marathon, the timing would be perfect to begin our seven-week comprehensive package.
You cannot achieve the necessary endurance without strong muscles to push you up those hills, down the stretch and across the finish line. When you build muscle, your body does not become fatigued as quickly.
We focus as much on core strength as we do lower- and upper-body strength to support a strong gait and efficient form, as well as prevent injury. Protecting the ankles, knees and hips with mobility movements is part of the protocol.
Give us a call. We’ll get you race-ready by the time the starting gun goes off.
