Owning a century home often comes with the added responsibility of honoring the home’s history when you decide to renovate. Choosing the right designer and construction company are two of the most important decisions you’ll make. Fortunately, choosing Daveron Design + Build is the only decision you’ll have to make for your next home renovation project. That’s because when you choose Daveron, you are working with a design-and-build company where every aspect of your project, from the design process through completion, is done by the experts and their partners.

“As a professional designer, I start by discussing your goals, budget and expectations for the project,” Daveron interior designer Sarah Simpson says. “I work directly with our construction and build team and together we develop the plan, including, timing, finishes, special design elements and all details.”

The Daveron team has been working together for more than 20 years and has developed close relationships with vendors and tradespeople along with a partnership with our sister company, an Amish cabinet shop for wood design elements and furnishings. These relationships allow Daveron to get the job done with fewer delays, and if issues do arise, they are quickly resolved. There are no surprises.

“Our Chagrin Falls clients wanted to enlarge their kitchen but keep the original design and feel of the home intact,” Sarah says. “They wanted the new space to look like it had always been there and flow seamlessly into the rest of the house. We achieved this goal by expanding into the dining room without compromising the original integrity of the home.”

Sarah says the Chagrin Falls project included custom cabinetry and an entry area mudroom with a custom built-in bench. Daveron also refinished the hardwood flooring throughout the home and moved the laundry room upstairs.

“We included glass details in some of the cabinetry,” Sarah says. “This was in keeping with the historical formality of the home that the clients loved.”

Sarah says the Chagrin Falls clients were on a tight timeline that Daveron was able to meet.

To enjoy your reimagined space for the holidays, now is the time to sit down with the team at Daveron Design + Build to start planning.

“That’s the Daveron difference,” Sarah says. “Being a design and build company allows us to avoid many of the delays and issues other companies face because we are directing every aspect of the project. It’s easy to lose control when you have to rely on other companies you don’t know to do their job.”

The Chagrin Falls project started, as many do, with a word-of-mouth recommendation and a phone call. Sarah and co-owner Dave went to the home to discuss the scope of the project, design, budget and other details. Then Sarah got busy building a design board for the homeowners to go over at the next meeting at the Daveron showroom.

“This initial visit to our showroom is when clients can see choices of everything from flooring and faucets to appliances and countertops,” Sarah says. “Many options are set in small vignettes around the showroom so you can see how they work and start to visualize the changes in your home.”

And there’s no pressure. Wander the showroom as many times as necessary. Sarah and the team are here to help until you get exactly what you’re looking for.

“For the Chagrin Falls project, we then took a field trip to the cabinet shop, which is always a fun experience,” Sarah says. “It’s here that the client sees the wood options available to them, meets the woodworkers and discusses the design aspects of cabinetry and other custom elements. The possibilities are endless.”

Sarah adds that if custom cabinets are not in the budget, there are ways to lower the cost.

“Semi-custom cabinets are a less expensive option and can also shorten the timeline,” Sarah says. “We offer semi-custom cabinets from several different vendors. If you don’t have special needs or requests as far as cabinet size, color, material or design, and you’d like to keep the cost down and get quality cabinets faster, semi-custom cabinets are a great option.”

If any home renovation project is on your to-do list, now is the time to start planning if you’d like to enjoy your new space for the holidays.

“Custom cabinets and anything that needs to be ordered can take some time,” Sarah says. “We like to have all of those elements ready to go before we get started on a project, so we are in and out of your home as quickly as possible. If you’re dreaming about making a change in your home, Daveron will make that dream a reality.”
