For the most part, 2023 was a dismal year for bicycle shops, with several large retailers that have been around for decades closing their doors. However, Electric Pete’s continues thanks to Mimi readers. Your patronage of my electric bicycle store helped me stay afloat.

We have a variety of different styles and colors of electric bikes to make riding enjoyable. Most brands come with a one-year warranty. Yamaha offers a three-year warranty. Troxus just announced an unheard-of five-year warranty. I sell reliable brands so it’s a rare occurrence to have a need for warranty work.

Here are other items at the store:

• Helmets - You go faster on e-bikes and some of the trails are now more crowded, so you need protection. I have colorful helmets from Kali and Abus.

• Locks - Abus also offers locks. A nice feature about its product is the security rating on each lock. You can get a small chain-link lock with a #2 rating up to the latest tungsten offering that is marked 15+.

• Lights - We have a nice offering of lights and light sets, which are USB-rechargeable.

• Phone Holders - We stock the Delta line of holders. They fit a variety of phones, and the larger ones also have latches. If you hit a bump, it won’t launch your phone out of the holder.
