At LifeSource Health Center, migraines become a thing of the past, guaranteed
By Patricia Nugent
LifeSource Health Center addresses migraines and a host of chronic conditions and illnesses by getting to the root of issues rather than just addressing symptoms.
Founded this summer by chiropractic physicians Dr. Tim Weeks and Dr. Tim Vierheller, the functional holistic family practice offers a wide array of therapies and services including chiropractic, nutrition and decompression therapy—all aimed at achieving whole body health.
Migraine Treatment
“Migraines are triggered when the nerves become compressed and there’s irritation at the nerve root,” says Dr. Vierheller.
The three components to LifeSource’s 90-day Migraine Reset Program include:
- Adjusting the cervical spine through decompression. They use a strap developed by Dr. Weeks.
- Inserting a small balloon into the nasal cavity and opening the sinuses to adjust the cranial bones to allow more oxygen to flow up the pathway, as it’s meant to.
- Patients undergo sessions in the salt cave at the health center. Breathing in the air helps reduce the buildup of toxins that can trigger migraines.
The doctors are seeing amazing results in their migraine patients, developing care plans around the individual.
“It’s rewarding to see people who have suffered for a long time finally get well,” he says. “In fact, our program is working so efficiently, we are guaranteeing that if someone follows our protocols, doing everything we ask of them, and doesn’t get better, we give them their money back. No questions asked. That’s how much we believe in what we’re doing.”
In addition to migraines and chronic headaches, the doctors treat a lot of back pain, neck pain, sinus issues, allergies, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and recovery from injury.
Among the tools at their disposal are lasers.
“For nerve issues, specifically, through laser acupuncture we are able to reduce inflammation and encourage cellular healing by increasing blood supply to an affected area,” he says.
The gentlemen are pleased to be able to offer the community the salt cave. Relaxing in the soothing, meditative space and breathing in the air helps people with a host of respiratory issues, skin issues and promotes relaxation and healing.
“Whatever the treatment, each plan is targeted to the patient’s needs,” says Dr. Vierheller. “There are no cookie-cutter treatments here.”
Lisa’s Story
Dr. Vierheller shares a story about his twin sister, Lisa, as testimony to how passionate he is about practicing chiropractic medicine.
“Lisa suffered from severe migraines for 15 years. When she got them, she looked like she was stroking,” he says. “She had scarring on her brain from the damage they had done.”
Ultimately, nine years ago, at the age of 41, she went to bed one night and never woke up.
“Seeing the techniques Dr. Weeks was doing and realizing the impact it can have on those in the migraine community and wishing my sister had these options open to her made me want to spread that message so it wasn’t impacting others’ lives,” he says.
Before Lisa passed away, they did a lot of work with her sinus cavity and the nerves that came out of her neck, similar to the approach taken at LifeSource Health Center.
Dr. Vierheller says that although he originally wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon, one morning in college he woke up with neck pain, was referred to a chiropractor, and had an amazing, and eye-opening, experience.
“I thought to myself, why not address the cause of the problem before you have to resort to more invasive things like surgery,” he says. He went to a chiropractic university three months later, and, as of today, has been in practice for 21 years.
Healing the Body Through Nutrition
Dr. Weeks says they also offer nutritional coaching to people looking to lead a healthier, more well-balanced life.
“We create a personalized diet plan focused on stabilizing blood sugar and nutritional density,” he says. “We gain knowledge through blood work and behavioral analysis, educate people about the tools they need, and follow all that up with weekly weigh-ins. We offer an app as part of the program for patients to check in with us daily.”
Many of the organic supplements that are integral to the program are available in the health food store located within the health center. Open to the public, the store offers everything needed for living a more natural, organic lifestyle, from food to body care products and cleaning supplies. Check the website for store hours.
