Bright smiles and expert care at Luminous Dental in Hudson

Not many people look forward to a trip to the dentist. Dr. Leah Divito and her staff at Luminous Dental in Hudson are out to change that.
The practice offers a high-tech brand of dentistry, with a peaceful, soothing vibe and friendly care.
“While we offer a serious level of technological advancements, we also love laughing with patients and getting to know them and their families,” she says.
The mission is to create a trusting, compassionate environment where patients achieve their best smiles and overall experience.
“When patients leave our office, we want them to think, ‘Hey, that appointment wasn’t half bad. I actually laughed at the dentist’s office,’” says Dr. Divito.
The environment at Luminous is spa-like and Zen, with bleached oak floors, comfy white-on-white furniture and a gourmet coffee station in the reception area, complete with a thriving olive tree, which the staff has named Olivia. Each of the six open operatories looks out onto green space through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Getting to Know Dr. Divito and Staff
From a young age, Dr. Divito knew she wanted to be a dentist.
After wearing braces and seeing them taken off to unveil a perfect smile, she was hooked.
“My teeth were really bad. I was in braces forever,” she says, laughing. “When they finally came off, it made a huge impact on my self-esteem. I wanted to make that happen for others. Also, my mother was a dental assistant and I loved science and math, as well as art. That all comes together with helping people achieve their best smiles.”
The Boardman native received her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Her general practice residency was at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown. She’s been a dentist for the past 12 years at other practices, venturing out to found Luminous Dental late last year. Dr. Divito balances her busy practice with her family life, which includes husband Jason and 3-year-old daughter Julia. They live in Medina.
“I chose to open the practice in Hudson because I love the tight-knit community feeling here,” she says.
Rounding out the staff are dental hygienist Shelby Dieterich and dental assistant Tiffany Gill. With 15 years in dentistry, Tiffany is a native of Dallas and has earned her EFDA to place fillings for patients. Heather Stein, not pictured, is the patient coordinator and enjoys spending extra time to review benefits with patients to make sure they understand and are making the best use of their insurance.

“We take each patient’s case to heart, offering a highly individualized approach,” says Dr. Divito. “After doing a full set of diagnostics, digital X-rays and intra-oral camera shots, I go over everything with the patient and we make choices going forward. Our mission is to provide a level of care that people feel comfortable with.”
The comprehensive blanket of services meets every patient’s needs, including preventive, cosmetic and restorative procedures, such as Invisalign, crowns, veneers and implant placement.
“When it comes to revitalizing a patient’s smile, I often start with a conservative approach of whitening, bonding and maybe realigning with Invisalign,” she says. “That lends a natural improvement. If the teeth are not in the best shape, we can go to veneers. Whatever the service, I’m transparent about everything we are striving to achieve.”
