Chronic pain relief at last

The goal is to increase blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, regulate inflammation and neurotransmitters, and stimulate the body to heal itself.

After suffering from years of chronic back pain caused initially by scoliosis and worsened by a car accident, I finally received relief thanks to acupuncture treatment.

To share the healing with others, I went to school for four additional years after undergrad, receiving my Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2016.

I hope anyone suffering can move past the thought of needles hurting and give acupuncture a try. They are small—about the size of cat whiskers—and most patients hardly feel them going in.

Chronic pain of the back, neck and knees are specialties of mine, as well as seasonal allergies, which are about to hit Northeast Ohio. Other patients who have benefitted from my treatments include those suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD, digestive disorders and symptoms of PMS.

Cupping is another tool in my treatment arsenal. Suction cups are placed on the skin and moved around or left stationary. The goal is the same as acupuncture—to increase blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, regulate inflammation and neurotransmitters, and stimulate the body to heal itself.

In addition to acupuncture, the Sarah McKay Counseling staff of seven counselors and two therapy dogs, Chiko and Hopper, help people overcome mental health struggles. Come eat, shop and try a little acupuncture at our Summer Sun Market on Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the practice.
