For a beautiful appearance, it’s difficult to beat hardwood. It’s a natural product, which means you’re not going to have repeated patterns like you would with a manufactured product. Wood flooring is also strong and durable and adds value to your home.

Many homeowners may believe gorgeous, natural hardwood flooring is out of reach for their budget. Not necessarily so, insists Josh Fox, flooring consultant with MDG Flooring America, in Medina. Below, Josh explains why hardwood may be an attractive option for your floors.

Q: What are the advantages of hardwood flooring?
A: For a beautiful appearance, it’s difficult to beat hardwood. It’s a natural product, which means you’re not going to have repeated patterns like you would with a manufactured product. Wood flooring is also strong and durable and adds value to your home.

Q: But is it affordable?
A:
In recent years, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) has been the hottest product in the flooring market, partly due to its affordability relative to hardwood. The price margin between LVT and hardwood is narrowing, which has resulted in an increased interest in hardwood in our showroom. LVT is a phenomenal product, but more people are discovering they can enjoy the natural beauty of hardwood without paying that much more.

Q: What are the best rooms to install hardwood floors?
A: Many of our customers are investing in hardwood installs throughout their first floor living areas.

Q: Is it easy to refinish hardwood floors?
A:
We carry engineered hardwood that is generally not refinishable, as well as a robust selection of refinishable hardwood products.
