For those with naturally curly hair, at times it can be both a blessing and a curse. At Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa, the stylists can enhance curls or straighten them, for the best of both worlds.

“We offer DevaCut, which is a specialized haircutting technique that will enhance natural curls and make them beautiful,” says Corinne Calabro, salon owner.

The stylists are certified in this specialized dry-cutting technique, in which the hair is cut when it is in its natural dry state—not wet.

“Each curl is cut individually so the curl pattern is not disrupted,” says Corinne. “By cutting the hair when it is dry, we can see how the curls fall naturally.”

On the flip side, Cory’s also does hair straightening using the GK Hair Taming System, a keratin treatment that leaves hair smooth and straight. “As it gets more humid in summer, this treatment helps tame frizzy hair,” says Corinne.

And if you want more permanent hair straightening, Matrix Opti Smooth is a pro-keratin smoothing cream that fortifies and conditions hair when flat ironing for a silky, smooth look.
