Creative Movement Center is registering for summer dance camp

If you want your children’s hearts to soar, there’s no better pursuit than dance.
Research has shown that dance improves emotional well-being, social and cognitive skills, dedication and discipline, as well as provides the physical benefits of strength, better posture, coordination and flexibility.
For kids ages 18 months to 18 years old, registration for summer camps and programs at Creative Movement Center in Broadview Heights has recently opened. Classes cover most dance styles, from ballet and hip hop to acro, contemporary and jazz. Camps include fun themes like Princess Camp, American Doll Camp, Pop Star Camp and Safari Adventure Camp, just to name a few. Although the most popular ones, like the Encanto Princess Camp, are starting to sell out, more are being added to the schedule to accommodate.
“Over the past 14 years, I’m proud to say our studio has grown and adapted to the times, always seeking out and adding opportunities for students to develop their love of dance,” says Hayley Weiss, who is director and owner of the growing studio. “Summer camps and classes are the perfect time for people to explore a new style of dance, and for new families to get a feel for what we are about.”
Session 1 runs from Monday, June 13, until Monday, July 11, with no class on July 4, and Session 2 is Tuesday, July 12, until Monday, August 8. Hayley notes they are flexible to accommodate for family vacations. If someone misses a class, they can always make it up in the next session.
Standouts this summer include:
- Fueled by GRL PWR empowerment camp for girls in grades 7-12 that focuses on strength, journaling, meditation and self-care.
- Preteen Broadway Jazz and Musical Theatre class, perfect for those who want to try out acting.
- Two-day Tumbling and Acro Clinics for a more intense, targeted experience.
- Adaptive dance for kids and teens with special needs.
“And for the first time, we’ve added adult fitness classes,” says Hayley. “As a family-forward studio, we try to serve the parents, too. Our instructor Claire Monda offers Cardio & Conditioning, Kickboxing and Pilates Fusion.”
