In case you missed it: December has officially become the Month No Longer Known for Gifts and Garland, Trees and Tinsel. It is now solely known as the month Danny Boys introduced its new winter seasonal menu.

“Our chef has a true sense of what Clevelanders consider comfort food, and this new lineup of dishes reflects that,” says General Manager Elena Rego. “From all-American to ethnic-inspired, the fare has a blend of trusted traditions and unexpected flair.”

Take for instance the tantalizing Fried Ravioli appetizer. It includes five jumbo ricotta-filled ravioli, hand-breaded, fried and served with a zesty side of marinara.

For a savory fusion of Eastern European with a dash of Tuscany, don’t miss the Pizzeria Potato Pancakes, which include five silver dollar pancakes of shredded potatoes, chopped pepperoni, pizza cheese and fresh basil. They are served with a side of marinara and sour cream.

“Growing up in an Italian home, I had never eaten anything like this dish,” says Elena, who admits it is hands-down her favorite on the menu.

Meat lovers can never go wrong with a perfectly prepared steak. The new menu includes a 12-ounce NY Strip Steak lightly seasoned and grilled, served with garlic parmesan potato wedges and grilled asparagus.

For a lighter version, opt for the Steak Caesar Salad, with a perfectly prepared six-ounce strip on top of a traditional Caesar. Another classic prep is the Bleu Wedge Salad, a crisp chop of iceberg lettuce topped with crumbled bacon, grape tomatoes, red onions and bleu cheese.

Filling out the rest of the menu are scrumptious family secret recipes with something for everyone, from pizzas and pastas to ribs, wings, sandwiches and entrée salads.

The nostalgic décor is as welcoming and comforting as the menu, paying homage to familiar faces like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and the Rat Pack.

Cheer on the Home Team
Planning a football game watch party? Danny Boys makes things super simple with its online catering site, DannyBoysCatering.com.

“Customers can browse menus and prices,” she says. “All we need is a day’s notice before any event.”

Those looking for the perfect neighborhood spot to catch the games should look no further. DB offers five big televisions in its ample bar area.

Cleveland football game specials include buckets of five 16-ounce cans of Yuengling for $11 for either light, golden pilsner or traditional lager.

“We also offer pizza specials, and the Italian Burger becomes ‘The Chubb Burger’ during Cleveland football games,” she adds.

Think Local, Drink Local
“Supporting and promoting local breweries is important to us,” she says. “We have a lot of customers who enjoy beers from Collision Bend Brewery in the Flats, particularly the Eight Crazy Nights, which comes in a 12-ounce snifter.”
