Design with color in 2022
By Katie Capek and Sarah Simpson, Interior Designers; Daveron Design + Build
As the leading manufacturers of the paint world are releasing their most coveted “Colors of the Year” announcements, Daveron Design + Build is fully embracing the subtle green hues highlighted for 2022, and the way they encourage the outdoors-in concept.
After so many years of cool gray tones dominating interior design, we are moving back toward warm Earthy shades involving taupe and brown. As a counterpoint to balance them, we are working with organic-feeling wood species, such as rift sawn white oak, displaying lots of movement and texture. While white kitchens never really go out of style, wood tones have been trending from dark to lighter shades that boast the natural character of their origins. Do not be afraid to use the trending organic hues in your backsplash tile or paint colors to compliment a bright white kitchen or bath. In larger scale renovations like a kitchen, you may want to remain within your comfort zone on the sizable items, like cabinetry and flooring, while reserving the more whimsical colors for the less permanent pieces like paint color, accessories, and artwork.
Green is a versatile color that pairs well with other earth tones in modern farmhouse settings, as well as black and white in a more modern décor. It couples beautifully with blue tones as well. Amidst the back-to-nature vibe, we are also seeing a resurgence in patterned wallcovering for dramatic flair as an accent wall, or a backdrop for a bar or bookcase.
The photo above of our coffee bar in the showroom is an excellent example of pulling together green cabinets and rustic woods alongside a bold neutral wallcovering for a look that transitions beautifully from rustic to modern.
We believe that good design is timeless and are showcasing displays that reflect that opinion. As full-service designers planning kitchens, bathrooms and home additions, we work with every aspect a homeowner would need to bring a space to life. Our offerings including furniture, lighting, window treatments, accessories, and paint selections in addition to cabinetry, flooring, countertops, and tile.
