Designing your own kitchen
By Ken McEntee
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” according to Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. But how does a kitchen project begin?
“The first step is a design,” suggests Scott Powers, sales manager of Kiba Studio, Medina’s kitchen and bath showroom. Below, Scott explains more.
Q: How do you begin to design a new kitchen?
A: You can get started from the comfort and convenience of your own home. Today’s 3-D design software makes it simple to build your new kitchen right on your computer screen. You can access our online design software for no charge just by visiting our website.
Q: What if I have no design experience?
A: It doesn’t matter. The software is so simple that anybody can do it. You just type in your room measurements, then you drag your appliances, tables, cabinets and other components into the room and see how they will look in 3D.
Q: What if I screw it up?
A: It doesn’t matter. Your rough draft design will be sent digitally to our professional designer, who will make sure everything fits correctly and offer suggestions about how to optimize your space, maximize functionality and make your dream kitchen look spectacular. And before anything is ordered, we’ll be at your home to take actual measurements, so you can be assured that everything will be perfect.
