Welcome to our newest Nest. We’re located in Oakwood Square Plaza in Plain Township,” says Elaine Smith founder of the super- affordable and fun boutique, Bird’s Nest Boutique & Decor in Canton. We invite people to come discover us, and fly in to find high fashion at low prices.”

Elaine, along with her children and extended family have been serving Stark County since 2008 and has always had the goal of giving their customers more of what they want—for less.

The Bird’s Nest Boutique, with two locations in Canton, offers the latest in fashions, home décor and bath and body items, all at affordable prices.

“I’ve learned a lot in my career, and I’ve always wanted to be honest with people and have my pricing reflect that,” says Elaine. “Fashion trends come and go. No one wants to pay $80 for a casual summer top. To me, that doesn’t make sense. Our customers are smarter than that. We want you to feel great when you leave the shop—not guilty because you overspent.”

Home décor items are mainly made of wood. Items like vases, frames, wall art, mirrors and trays all have a natural, earthy feel.

We all know that sick feeling we get when we’ve overpaid for something.

“The lesson we learn from those experiences is that we’ll never go back to that store,” says Elaine. “We are very casual here. This is my family. My daughters, Hannah, and Erica, son, Aaron and daughter-in-law, Sarah all work here. We want you to stop in, browse freely and maybe you’ll find something to brighten your day.”

“We are a small local business and love to support other local businesses in the shops,” says Hannah. “Our candles, handmade greeting cards, lip butters and body scrubs are all locally made. We love the idea that you’re not only supporting our family when you shop here, but you also support all these other local businesses, which helps the entire community.”

A visit to Bird’s Nest may just provide that something to brighten your day.

The whole family feels very lucky to be working together in this fun and creative atmosphere. Aaron says everyone has their strengths and brings something unique and important to the group, making everything flow smoothly.

“We all get along great and I think people really feel that,” says Erica. “It’s such a happy place and people immediately feel relaxed. I even bring my dog.”

The boutique also carries pet items and organic dog treats. Bring your dog in to try one.

“I like going to stores with a certain vibe that makes you feel welcome, relaxed and just better. That’s what Bird’s Nest is,” says Sarah. “We want to offer something fun and affordable for our community and make people feel good about themselves and their homes. It’s a good life.”
