Fitness is about the numbers

Weighing yourself on a standard scale only gives a narrow picture of your actual body composition.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

This old adage rings especially true when it comes to achieving your fitness goals.

This month, when we start unpacking shorts and bathing suits, the need for getting in shape becomes more urgent. But simply wanting it isn’t enough.

Weighing yourself on a standard scale only gives a narrow picture of your actual body composition.

Last year I invested in the InBody 270 scanner to provide unique metrics for each client, such as muscle versus fat ratio, skeletal body mass, and basal metabolic rate, which tells us the number of calories you burn when at rest. This is an important number, since the more muscle you have the more calories you burn to maintain it.

We customize a workout to achieve your goals. Clients often tell us they want to lose weight, but we explain to them a smarter goal would be to lose fat, because without consistently monitoring your fat and muscle levels, you could actually be losing muscle.

After we take an initial scan on the analyzer, we do follow-up scans each month to mark our progress and tweak the training and/or nutrition counseling. The scan gives us a calorie goal and we help people optimize the macronutrients of their meals.

Knowledge is power. Give us a call to set up an appointment for your InBody scan so we can work smarter to hit your goals before swimsuit season comes around.
