Floorz: Where innovations in flooring take a front seat

A quest for offering innovative, trend-centric flooring with impeccable customer service has launched Floorz to the upper echelon of retailers in Northeast Ohio.
With expansive showrooms in Strongsville, Maple Heights and Montrose, founder and owner Brian Erickson has led the family-owned operation over the past 14 years.
Innovation and Design Collide
When it comes to carpeting and hard- surface flooring, Brian points out that Mohawk and Karastan account for the lion’s share of his sales.
“Thanks to product evolution and design innovation, these products have developed over the years to meet the demands of homeowners,” he says. “People today want waterproof, hard-surface floors that are impervious to pet scratches and carpeting that’s stain resistant. Karastan BelleLuxe and Mohawk RevWood are two of our most popular hard-surface floors and several different Mohawk carpet styles are protected by the All Pet Protection and Stain Warranty. I have RevWood in my own home and it hasn’t seen a scratch from our rambunctious dog, Mocha.”
“Across the board, these warranties cannot be beat,” says Brian. “Thanks to the next-generation durability of the floors, we even offer a limited lifetime warranty for pet stains and stain resistance.”
Two New Lines
The inviting and spacious showroom floors at each location are always in a state of flux, with new lines being introduced. This month, you’ll find displays for Wickham and Cali, which represent the best-of-the-best that Brian and his team discovered on buying trips zig-zagging the country during the month of January.
“Wickham Hardwood Flooring out of Canada is a 30-year-old award-winning company that offers a broad range of choices in selecting your perfect, made-to-order style of solid or engineered hardwood flooring, the type of wood, depth and finish,” he says. “We are the first and only retailer in Northeast Ohio to offer this pioneering line.”
Also exclusive to Floorz, the Cali line includes luxury vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood and bamboo. The company began online, but you pay less when buying here.
Complementing the new and classic lines found in the showrooms is a super-stylish selection of area rugs.
“In addition to the styles on display, we can custom cut the size or shape of any carpet we sell,” adds Brian.
Custom tile work for backsplashes and accent walls is another growing segment of the business.
It’s All in the HIPS
Rest assured, every person you come in contact with at Floorz is an expert, with training and certifications in the industry.
“But to me, attitude is as important as product knowledge,” says Brian. “My longstanding staff shares my passion for service. We see ourselves as a service company first and foremost. (To Brian’s credit, the credo works. I stopped in the Floorz location in Strongsville after talking to him and was warmly greeted by his staff, who were genuinely excited to show me around.)
