Four Corners Heating and Cooling was founded last year by Chris Liston and Joseph Reichman, who’ve spent decades working for prominent HVAC companies in the area.

Sometimes just a thorough cleaning of the unit is enough to keep it running smoothly.”

“The pandemic had us all more concerned with germs and the quality of the air we breathe,” she says. “As a result, a big trend in our business is installing air scrubbers to HVAC units. I’m a mother of four and I installed one and love it. Attached directly to our basement unit, air passes through a UV light that kills airborne germs. I feel like it’s a positive protection against all the germs my kids bring home from school.”

In addition to germs, viruses and bacteria, air scrubbers also reduce air pollution, pet dander, odors and dust.

Moisture plays a key role in indoor air quality, too. During a preventive check, Four Corners technicians test and evaluate the humidity levels in a home.

“People with allergies, asthma or skin conditions often add whole-house humidifiers to remove irritating dry air from the environment,” she says. “Dry air can also impact cracking in hardwood floors, windows, doors or furniture.”

On the flip side, she reports that dehumidifiers come into play for indoor air quality that’s overly humid, which can create an environment for mold, mildew and musty odors.
