Home Appliance Sales & Sales announces closure of the Lodi location and Extreme Warehouse Sale from April 20 to May 6

After more than three decades of serving the community, Home Appliance Sales & Service has announced its plans to sell its Lodi appliance showroom and outlet store located at 110 Highland Drive early this summer to Community Action Wayne/Medina.
Though Home Appliance has yet to announce an official closing date for the Lodi store, the Graysons said they expect to close the showroom’s doors by mid-July. Between now and then, all three Home Appliance showrooms will host an Extreme Warehouse Sale from April 20 to May 6, with deep discounts on floor displays, overstocked items and scratch-and-dent pieces. Additionally, all three stores will offer holiday promotional pricing on new appliances for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

The company, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2022, opened its first appliance showroom in Lodi back in 1992, four years after owners Beth and Brian Grayson purchased the appliance service business. The showroom was initially located in Lodi’s downtown square in the building currently occupied by Subway, however, the Graysons purchased the existing Lodi location, which previously housed an IGA supermarket, in 1996. They expanded the storefront to include an additional outlet showroom featuring scratch-and-dent and closeout appliances in 2011.
In the years since, Home Appliance Sales & Service, known for its low pricing and rebates that are not available to big box appliance retailers, has continued to expand both the retail and service ends of its business, constructing state-of-the-art showrooms in Brunswick and most recently in Avon. The Graysons say continuing to improve those locations and planning for the company’s future expansion will remain their focus.
“Leaving Lodi has been an extremely difficult decision for us to make because of the many customers who have become like family to us over the years,” Beth said, adding that Home Appliance will continue to provide delivery, installation and repair services to its customers in Lodi and throughout Northeast Ohio.
All of the company’s 60 employees, including Home Appliance’s first employee, Tracy Kelling, who just celebrated 30 years with the company, are being retained.
“Tracy and the rest will be relocated to our Brunswick location, which is just a short 20-minute drive up the road,” Beth said.
Because the Graysons are dedicated to leaving the community better than they found it, they have elected to sell their showroom and outlet center to Community Action Wayne/Medina.
“We would not have sold this space to another retail business or to another company that wouldn’t add value to the community,” Beth said. “This will be a mainstay in the Lodi community and will continue to make a positive impact on the residents here for years to come.”
Community Action Wayne/Medina assists eligible low-income households through various programs, making homes safer, more energy-efficient and affordable. The organization also oversees the Head Start program, which works to close the achievement gap that poverty can impact and assists families in developing and supporting education for their children. Other programs and services CAW/M provides address self-sufficiency, transportation, food insecurity, employment, prescription assistance and more.
In addition to using the Highland Avenue space to build Head Start classrooms, CAW/M is considering building additional office space at the Lodi site.
