For those suffering from chronic nerve pain, depression, fibromyalgia, or PTSD, finding treatment options that provide relief and improve one’s quality of life can be overwhelming. Now, however, leading-edge infusion therapies have become an effective and reliable option used in conjunction with a patient’s medical course.

Mind & Body Infusion Therapies (MBIT), located in Kirtland, offers infusions customized to each client’s individual needs. In addition to prescribed infusions for specific medical conditions, MBIT provides non-prescription vitamin infusion therapies to boost the immune system and promote the body’s own natural healing and recovery.

That’s really good news in the Covid era.

“Those afflicted with the Covid-19 virus may continue to struggle with persistent fatigue, brain fog, depression, or difficulty coping with stress long after recovering from the infection,” explains Nurse Anesthetist Amanda Angus, who founded MBIT last year.

For Covid fatigue, the ingredients in the infusion include a medically-recommended protocol of Vitamin C, B-complex, and Zinc. Those suffering from post-Covid brain fog also receive vitamin NAD (B3) infusions. A series of infusions are planned depending on the severity of symptoms.

“Post-Covid patients have come to us with lingering symptoms ranging from brain fog to fatigue, and these infusions have made significant improvements for them,” Amanda adds.

A Boost for Your Body
“Even if you have a pretty good diet, your nutritional needs might not be being met,” explains Nurse Practitioner Greg Palovich, who is also on the MBIT staff. “Receiving your vitamins, minerals, and amino acids via an IV is a much more efficient method than taking oral vitamins.”

Most infusions take 30-60 minutes and are targeted to specific conditions, including enhancing athletic performance, anti-aging, premenstrual symptoms, pre/post-surgery recovery, migraines, jet lag, and of course, post-Covid symptoms. They even offer the Hangover Plus, a sure-fire cure for over-imbibing the night before.

Amanda also notes that the infusions can be used to treat people suffering from cancer and the effects of chemotherapy. In fact, she is currently working with her own mother through treatment with vitamin C infusions.

In addition to nutrition infusions, MBIT offers facial aesthetics for wrinkles around the eyes and forehead, using an injectable product similar to Botox, but more affordable.

MBIT features private suites with comfortable recliners, relaxing wall fireplaces, and a calming environment to help reduce anxiety.

What are Ketamine Infusions?
Ketamine is one of the biggest breakthroughs in treating severe depression to come along in years. At MBIT, Ketamine is used in condition-specific dosages and protocols to help control symptoms of mental health disorders and chronic nerve pain conditions. Many patients report this treatment has been a “lifesaver” for them.

“We provide support, offering Ketamine therapy only to patients who are referred by their healthcare provider,” Amanda explains. “We work in collaboration with their providers, giving updates throughout treatment as to the patient’s progress.”

The initial infusion starts at a low dose to see how each patient tolerates the medication. Then they readjust with each session, monitoring the patient’s symptoms. Patients are under close observation and vital sign monitoring throughout the entire infusion.

Patient-Centered Care
Mind & Body Infusion Therapies also focuses on the patient experience. “We wanted to create a place where patients are not treated like numbers, where we could spend as much time as we need to get them the most effective and individualized care they deserve,” Amanda adds.

Mind & Body Infusion Therapies is located at 9264 Chillicothe Road, Suite 2, in Kirtland. Amanda Angus is a member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with evenings and weekends by appointment. IV infusions are not covered by insurance. They do offer financing plans.
