Locally owned Choice Cabinet has made a name for itself by offering inspired interior design, custom work and high-quality products—all at wholesale pricing.

The designers pushed the model as far as it could go with this fabulous new Cleveland home, which sports a modern transitional style in its cabinetry and countertops throughout.

“This is a good example of where we shine,” says Jessica Ricard, who is the showroom supervisor and daughter of Choice Cabinet founder Tony Laurinaitis. “I want people to know they can spend less and end up with more when it comes to cabinetry, and all at wholesale pricing. Our design service is complimentary and customized to match homeowners’ lifestyles. People sit down with us and go over wish-list photos and measurements. Then we create a computerized rendering to illustrate what the finished space would look like.”

There are so many options to select from within Choice Cabinet’s Essentials line with a one-year warranty, and a higher-end line called Select, with more features and a limited lifetime warranty.

Black-and-White Drama
A sleek, black-and-white color scheme is softened by graceful touches like curvaceous mullion shapes within the glass-fronted cabinets and a stunning quartz countertop on the island with a dramatic waterfall edge dropping to the floor. The homeowner chose white Shaker-style cabs for the perimeter and black ones for the massive island.

“With creative uses of the products we have in stock, the designers were able to do things in this kitchen like a luxurious, stacked, three-level crown, a custom wood range hood and bumped out cabinets around the cooktop for additional storage and counterspace,” she explains.

To mix things up, the homeowner decided to go with white counters on the island, and black counters for the perimeter.

“Black matte is a big trend, so they went with a matte finish for the sink, faucets and fixtures,” she says.

High-end storage solutions were matched to how the family will use the kitchen, including built-in spice racks and at-a-glance utensil holders that allow them to declutter their counter space.

Because Choice Cabinet manufactures its own cabinet lines, more features—and more savings—are packed into every remodel.

Since all the work is done at the Choice Cabinet warehouse in Bedford, Jessica says if clients ever need something changed on the fly it’s easy.

“Installers consistently say how much they love working with our products for their quality and ease of installation,” she adds. “And with our fully stocked warehouse, there are no inventory lags. With the largest inventory in Northeast Ohio, our customers can get cabinets delivered in 2-3 weeks, compared to others who often wait 8-12 weeks.”

Spotlight on Entertaining
“People are entertaining again,” she says. “Since kitchens are the heart of the home, where everyone congregates, the big trend we’re seeing is hutches, bars and butler’s pantries acting as focal points in kitchens. We can configure any hutch to meet the client’s needs. Some people want to create a wine bar or gourmet coffee station.”

To trick out this bar’s functionality, the homeowner added a wine/beverage refrigerator and built-in cabinet-fronted trash container.

In addition to a separate entertainment space, she says more and more families are looking to lockers.

“People want to organize and declutter their lives,” she says. “What used to be the mudroom—with piles of backpacks, sneakers and jackets—is now the family locker room. Lockers help kids handle their own stuff. We can create any size or style, built perfectly to suit the family. The other bonus is that with many homes, people come in their garage door instead of the front door, so your locker room would be everyone’s first impression of the home.”

The bathrooms in this home got star treatment as well. A floating vanity in the guest bath adds wow factor, and so does the concrete-look sink. For the master, ample storage space is boosted with countertop cabinets.
