Whether you consider yourself a grill master or your thrill of the grill consists of finding a perfectly prepared grilled meal, Miles Farmers Market is the place for all things summer.

Just in time for Fourth of July parties and backyard barbecues all summer long, Miles is stocked with everything you need from meats to corn on the cob, watermelons and apple pies.

“We are known for our delicious hot dogs and hamburgers,” says Justin Golobek, store manager. “We ship our Old Chicago-style hot dogs to customers across the country. They have quite a following and we have been selling them for 30 years. These signature hot dogs are made with all beef and have lots of flavor with a nice snap.”

Miles also makes specialty burgers and sausages every week in-house. The most popular is Frank’s Angus Steakburger. There also are rotating flavors every week ranging from the Cleveland Beer Burger, made with Great Lakes Dortmunder beer and caramelized onions, to the Brisket Burger, with added cheeses and special seasonings. The sausage and bratwurst varieties are just as inventive, such as the State Fair Sausage, the Philly Steak Dog and the Honey Barbeque Chicken Sausage.

Also in the butcher shop you will find chicken, along with baby back ribs and St. Louis-style ribs. “You can buy the slabs raw and grill them yourself or we cook them in-house every morning and you can just reheat at home,” says Justin. “They are so tender they fall off the bone. And don’t forget about our prepared coleslaw and deli salads that make perfect sides.”

Miles Farmers Market also is overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables.

“Since we have been in business for more than 50 years, we have many long-standing relationships with local farmers, so we get the freshest and tastiest produce. Many of our fruits and vegetables are picked in the morning on farms and are on our shelves that same day. It doesn’t get any fresher than that,” says Justin. “In the summer, we feature as many locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs as possible. The first of the homegrown produce has started to roll in and we have our first batch of local tomatoes and strawberries right now.”

In season at Miles Farmers Market in June and July are asparagus, yellow squash, zucchini, cabbage and green beans, as well as cherries, peaches and plums.

At Miles you will find interesting varieties of fruits and vegetables that you won’t find elsewhere.

The grilled fare features Frank’s Angus Steakburgers, turkey burgers, Old Chicago-style hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and more.

“We sell many varieties of heirloom tomatoes, and we also have watermelons in different varieties and sizes,” notes Justin. “One of the most unique is black diamond watermelons that have dark green flesh and are super sweet inside, plus we will have homegrown orange and yellow watermelons later in the year along with other melons including cantaloupes and honeyrocks.”
