Life insurance for the living

By Scott McEvoy, HealthMarkets Insurance Agency
Most people think about life insurance as a legacy living relatives and other loved ones receive when you pass away. It’s more uncommon to consider life insurance as a tool you can use to support a financial need while you’re still alive.
Term life insurance can offer death benefits of up to $2 million, as well as living benefits in the case of a qualifying illness. With term life insurance, a qualifying event might allow early access to the policy’s death benefit in the event of a chronic, critical or terminal illness. Considering how an illness may impact your finances, life insurance with a living benefit could help provide support when you need it most.
Essentially, term life insurance offers optional benefits that can provide additional financial support for expenses not covered by health insurance in the event of a qualifying illness.
Additionally, people may need some type of care or assisted living as they age. Long-term care and assisted living are not covered by Medicare. And, final expenses, like a celebration of life, burial or cremation, are also out-of-pocket costs that someone must bear.
I have access to a number of different products, with different coverage options and costs, that can help. Together we can determine what your budget is, and which type of product is best for your particular situation. It’s a good idea to review your options while you are still young, and/or healthy.
As always, my guidance is offered at no cost. I look forward to hearing from you.
