Lighting up hope for neuropathy
By Patricia Delzell, M.D., Advanced Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultants, Inc.
If you’ve been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, you are not alone. More than half of people with type 2 diabetes will develop neuropathy in their lifetime. And while walking on hot coals may be a fun challenge on a tropical vacation, the constant burning pain in your feet associated with neuropathy is not fun. In fact, it can be debilitating.
Symptoms may also include loss of balance and persistent numbness.
Many people with neuropathy have been told there is nothing that can be done for them, but that is no longer the case.
Infrared (IR) laser therapy—used at Advanced MMC for the past 18 months—is lighting up hope for patients with neuropathy. This light therapy in the form of a Class IV infrared laser has a high success rate in treating the burning pain along with numbness and a lost sense of balance.
IR laser therapy is effective because the precise light frequency awakens latent nerves and resets the electrical function of nerves by repairing the sodium pump.
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and in recognition, Advanced MMC is offering a 10% discount on infrared light therapy now through the end of November So if you’ve been diagnosed with neuropathy and want to reclaim your life, please give our office a call to find out if you are a candidate for IR laser therapy. We’ll perform a thorough assessment to ensure you have the best outcome possible.
Advanced Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultants’ new offices are at 8401 Chagrin Rd., Suite 20A, in Chagrin Falls. To learn whether you are a candidate for IR laser therapy, call 440-557-5011to schedule an evaluation. Visit AdvancedMMC.com for more information, including blogs and videos.
