We’re in the middle of the dog days of summer, which run through Sunday, August 11. With the highest temps of the year, slaving over meals in a hot kitchen isn’t on anyone’s to-do list. So why not pop in to Maple Country Meats for one-stop shopping and easy what’s-for-dinner ideas?

The newly opened store sources everything needed to throw a meal together in minutes at low prices, from local, farm-raised meats (beef, pork, lamb, goat, chicken, ground beef, hotdog, sausage) to throw on the grill, to fresh produce (Ohio corn is a big seller), and a refrigerated and frozen section with side dishes.

“We’re thankful so many folks have made us their go-to for groceries,” Vice President Fred Ahrens says.

If you’ve driven by this family-owned food emporium and wondered what’s it all about, the perfect chance to find out is Thursday afternoons, when they throw Summer Farmers’ Markets, rain or shine, from 2-7 p.m. These celebrations include specials on meats and produce, and feature local artisans and food trucks. Meet Fred and his friendly staff and hear about where your hand-picked food comes from.

Maple Country Meats is in a warehouse at 7955 Euclid Chardon Road in Kirtland. Its sister company, Richards Maple Products, is located at 545 Water Street, in Chardon. Call 234-400-6328 (MEAT) or visit RichardsMapleProducts.com/pages/maple-country-meats for more information.
