MaxStrength Fitness founder Jeff Tomaszewski’s wife, Jodi, passed away last June and he is using loss as a motivation for helping others

MaxStrength Fitness Founder Jeff Tomaszewski has always led with his heart.
His business model is based on his own science-backed research to help clients attain the best level of fitness through a convenient and sustainable protocol. Along the way, his motivational philosophy and insightful tips have become game-changers for thousands of people.
When his dear wife Jodi passed away unexpectedly last June, it was only natural Jeff would funnel the loss into inspiration for others. He established the Jodi Littman Tomaszewski Scholarship Fund, or JLT Fund, to endow women who possess the same drive, passion and altruistic spirit his wife did in pursuing a law degree.
To Know Her was to Love Her
“Jodi was the type of person that to know her was to love her,” he said in her eulogy.
She grew up in a small town in southeastern Ohio. After law school at Case Western Reserve University, she started a law career in 1999 at Dworken & Bernstein, where by 2007 she became the first woman to make partner, setting the bar high, and being a light for women.
She was a devoted mom, supporting her three daughters in sports, music and academics.
“Jodi was a generous giver of her time, energy and money, so this is a fitting legacy that she would love,” Jeff says.
Jeff and his staff have just announced the inaugural JLT Fund Golf Scramble, set for Saturday, July 23, at Little Mountain Country Club in Concord.
Sponsorship package opportunities are available for individuals and businesses, ranging from $150 to $10,000. All sponsors receive recognition on banners and printed materials, recognition on the event website and social media.
How One Local Golf Professional Upped his Game
Meet Joe Meglen, a golf professional at GolfTec. At first, he was skeptical about the MaxStrength protocol of two 20-minute sessions a week. That is until his already impressive golf game got even better.
“I’ve definitely seen performance and distance gains in my game,” says Joe, who notes the program is about much more than fewer, shorter sessions than you’d expect. It rises above others in the one-on-one training from seasoned professionals and state-of-the-art equipment.
“I think one of things that gets overlooked a lot in spring training and golf-specific training is the legs,” he says. “I know when I first started here, the trainers said I needed to strengthen my legs quite a bit and I think that’s where I’ve gained my distance. A lot of golfers don’t understand how to create power and speed using their lower body.”
Joe says he went from doubting the workouts (“I didn’t think I’d get the benefit from something I could do in so little time, and in my regular work clothes since the workouts are no sweat.”) to sending his own students and fellow golfers to train at MaxStrength.
