Have you been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy? Have you been told your nerves are “dead?” If so, I have good news: Advanced Musculoskeletal Medicine Consultants is now offering a leading-edge new therapy for use with any kind of neuropathy, whether related to diabetes, chemotherapy or some other cause.

It’s a new therapy design using a Class IV infrared laser to reset the ion pumps in the nerves and restore the health of the nerve insulation or “myelin sheath.”

Healthy nerves feature an ion pump—which is how the nerves transmit electrical impulses—and a myelin sheath, which is nerve insulation similar to the coating on an electrical wire. These help transmit electricity at a fast speed through the nerve. However, these critical systems are often damaged in people with neuropathy. This damage doesn’t mean your nerves are “dead.” Instead, they are latent, that is, asleep, and they can be awakened with this new laser therapy which works at the cellular level to reset ion pumps and produce the energy required to help cells do their jobs.

The results are dramatic. Neuropathy symptoms can be vastly improved, including:

  • numbness
  • burning
  • pain that is worse at night
  • a loss of feeling
  • not knowing where you are in space
  • not being able to feel the floor

Typically, there a total of 16 treatments divided up over 2-3 times each week using our Class IV infrared laser (the highest power available for this kind of therapy). Most patients see dramatic improvement by the 8th or 9th treatment, and symptoms continue to improve through the 16th treatment, which is sustainable for years afterward.
